We had a new well pump installed today. I don't know what the numbers mean 60/40, but that's what the old one was too. The water had low pressure, and although it is better now, it's not 100%. DH thinks we should have gotten a pump that is faster. Do they exist? Can anyone tell me what size pump you have?

Once again i need to read slower or quit thinking with my mommy brain.

When i read title I thought.... Breast pumps come in SIZES??????:lmao:

The well pump needs to be sized for the well. If you have a 5 gallon per minute well you want a well pump of 5 gallons per minute or less. Otherwise you would just drain the well and the pump would shut off and need to be reset, once the well refills. To get better pressure in the home you need to look at your pressure tank. We have ours set to 60/40. Is you pressure tank bladder ruptured? The two numbers mean that the pump will turn on when the pressure falls below 40 PSI and keep pumping until the tank hits 60 PSI. 60/40 gives a good house pressure. Most well pressure tanks are set to 50/30.
