We are planning a trip 11/17-11/24.
11/17 - fly from Oregon to WDW
11/18 - Disney
11/19 - Disney
11/20 - Disney
11/21 - Disney
11/22 - Universal
11/23 - Universal
11/24 - Fly Home

We usually stay on-site @ Wilderness Lodge, but are trading two Disney days for Universal this time as DD will be 9 and it may be time to see something new :goodvibes --- but we have to do our Disney time! SO - we are looking to do this trip for as little as possible, but are really spoiled by Wilderness Lodge. Any off-sites that are nice, decent, between the two, that we would like - given that Wilderness Lodge is our "home away from home?" If the Lodge was 40% off at that time, we'd just stay @ Disney the whole time.

I do have to say, i will miss EMH! And if we stayed onsite @ Universal we'd get the "no-lines" thing - but maybe those things are okay. I am also considering researching the teacher rate @ Dolphin, but not crazy about paying for parking AND resort fee - adds up quick over 7 days!

Thanks for your input & thoughts!

Personally, I'd do a split stay. Fly in, take ME to WDW, check out of WDW and take Mears to an on-site Universal hotel (we prefer the Hard Rock). This way you get the best of both worlds. Make arrangements with Mears for the return trip to the airport. You could also rent a car if you wanted, but unless you plan to do a lot of stuff off-site, it will probably be easier (and less expensive) to arrange transportation with Mears.
