Need gift idea for a friend

Ok, my friends birthday is coming up and I always have so much trouble figuring out a gift right after Christmas. Heres some info, and I'm open to suggestions! She'll be 31, has a 1 yr old, may have another soon, so no clothes. No bath & body works stuff, or lotions, candles, pjs or pictures frames. I was thinking of getting a spa certificate, but she just bought me that, so it would be like giving it right back to her. Something around the $50 range. Any ideas?

I don't see anything wrong with the spa GC. It's probably something she would really enjoy and maybe she was giving you a hint. I don't see why clothes are out either. If she's not pregnant yet, she'll still have the whole season of winter being the same size and it might not be something she'll buy for herself, for that reason. What about movie theatre gift certificates and offers to babysit.

I think the spa GC would be great. I just went for an hour long pedicure and it was so nice and relaxing. I think she would enjoy some mommy time and along with the GC, you could babysit while she goes. I would take that gift anytime, being a mom of 2, I don't always have that opportunity to be alone.

If they like to go to the movies you could get them movie tickets and offer to baby sit so they can enjoy a nite out.

I would get her $25 in movie gift. and $25 for a restaurant. Then she could go out for a nice date night. Also offer to babysit her little one.

Another idea would be to make her a basket for a relaxing night at home. Include a DVD, a box of expensive chocolates and a warm blanket.

One of the best Bday gifts I ever received from a friend that I had known since before Kindergarten (a zillion years ago) was a photo frame which showed many many pictures of us growing up, getting married, and even some of her and my daughter. I still have that picture frame hanging proudly and smile as I walk by it thinking of how many years had gone by and all of the things that we had done together over the years.

I think a spa GC is a great gift! When I give gifts to friends I give them things I think that they will like and things that I know I like. Some times when I am sending someone flowers or something from Harry and David or even the spa GC I think how nice it would be if I received one. Your friend may very well love the same thing.
