Need fundraising ideas

We need one more BIG fundraiser for my DD's cheer squad. We're selling donuts, selling candy bars, and we're doing a pancake breakfast at a local restaurant. But we need one more. We were going to do squad t-shirts, but we can't (long story). Any ideas?

One good way to raise money is Basket Bingo. Find someone who sells baskets and work with them.

Also, a craft show or a Shop Till You Drop, where you get all the home party people in one place. Sell tables for a certain amount - easy profit. Sell food.

Maybe do a spirit link competition for each grade? They can charge so much for a link or like 3 for a 1.

I didn't read all the posts..so this may have been mentioned. Are there any kid festivals/carnivals/school picnic type things coming up? Our school made $5000 selling confetti eggs. Basically you collect egg shells from the school kids. They break off one end of the egg, use the inners for cooking, and give you a clean shell. Then you fill the egg shells with confetti and cover the hole with tissue. You can dye the egg shells too. Anyway...you sell them for $1 a piece and kids smoosh them on each others heads. They are way popular. It was the biggest money maker at our "Friendship Festival"

Good Luck!

Get on the internet and do a search for Pizza cards. We have several different Pizza places in our area that you get like a $7-9 profit for each $10 card you sell. In our area we have Mr. Gattis, Dominoes and Papa Murphys but check your area. These sell real easy and with the best profits of any fund raiser we ever did.

I donated photos to my sons High School football boosters, they sold them at 5 bucks a pop.

It got me out of having to put in hours in the snack bar, plus it raised decent money for the team.

the cheerleaders in town here do car washes but they do them for FREE-they have people pledge them (like a walk a thon) with so much per car they wash. then they set up a free carwash stand at the local grocery store. they make a ton of tips plus the pledge money PLUS the local store donates rootbeer, ice cream, cups and straws for root beer floats.

they also do a basket raffle, but they enjoin the local buisnesses to help them. the baskets are placed for about a week in each of several buisnesses which sell the tickets for the kids (this way they get seen by allot more people). the baskets are then collected by the coaches, the raffle is held and the prizes distributed. between what the kids make selling tickets and the bsns. make-they do pretty well (oh, and they also talk each of the buisnesses into donating something for the baskets-and it gets pretty funny now, the buisnesses that used to just donate a couple of things are into making their own baskets and compete among each other to see who does the best job).

We have supermarket wingo (just like bingo) we do every year and have baskets to raffle with that-this year we raised about 5,000.
I did a chinese auction fundraiser (everything was donated so no out of pocket) and we raised almost 10,000 that night.
One local school is doing this wierd thing- they have a flock of those tacky pink flamingos and you can pay 5.00 to havethem put them on someones lawn-they put them there with a sign saying "you've been flocked" and a letter. The person that gets them can then pay 5.00 to have them put elsewhere. They also sold flock insurance at the school- for a couple bucks they will gaurentee that those tacky flamingos never make it to their lawn!

Our town did that for a fundraiser for new Christmas lights one year. It was a minimum donation of $20 to have them removed--they targeted business executives mostly. They raised several thousand dollars doing that but it was a LOT of work.

We used to do a spaghetti dinner along with a silent auction for our highschool orchestra that raised well over $10,000. Our kids' old school did a magazine sale through QSP/Readers Digest that made over $90,000. You cold do a work-a-thon where the girls pick up the city parks or something like that after having gone door to door for cash donations?

My daughters volleyball team did a huge yard sale. Made decent money but don't know exactly how much. Also, the band just did a Talent Show and charged admission to the guests. During the Talent Show they set up a concession stand and had two large areas with donated items for silent auctions. For our church group we did spaghetti suppers and a baked potato & salad bar lunch. Our Elementary school does a 50/50 raffle and I think they make quite a bit on that.

Car washes. Put the two prettiest girls in their uniforms with a sign on the sidewalk in front of where you'll be washing, you'll have guys come in to get thier car washed, then go home and come back with the wives cars. I'm not kidding.

What area are you in, the company I work for lets organizations do car washes in their parking lots and will even supply all the buckts, sponges, hoses, water, soap, etc. The only catch is that the organization has to hand our flyer/coupon/catalogue/etc. to the person when they pay.

What are these? I've never heard of them. Is it the name of a company?

The companies are independent around my area they are very popular right now, they sell knock-off pocketbooks like Kate Spade, Gucci , coach. Ask around someone in your area will probable know a person who does parties.

I think Tupeprware and Papered Chef also do fund-raising parties.

Our PTA just did a pot luck dinner Contra Dance (which is like a square dance). We paid $500 for the caller/band, and asked for a $5 donation per family (many people donated more). The entire school had a great time, and we netted $1,000.

Here kids do a pizza/pop fundraiser

They go door to door or have a sign up at school. For X amount of $ you get a take and bake pizza of your choice, 2 liter of soda of your choice, and a tub of cookie dough. They work with the Papa Murphy's pizza chain *don't know if they are everywhere or just local* but they deliver the goods either Super Bowl Sunday or World Series type times.

They make really really good money doing this. Last year one of the mom's said they raised $3K just doing this one fundraiser and people thought it was so great because it was delivered very early or possibly the day before *can't remember*

I have also seen Little Caesar's Pizza / Cookie Dough / Crazy Bread / Pie Fundraisers. I think the group gets $5 per item sold.

Try Gold Canyon Candles. You keep 40% of everything you sell! Our schools have sold them for fundraising, and did really well with it. They're easy to sell because everyone loves candles (and IMO they're the best!). I used to be a rep but I'm not anymore. You can find one online via their website!

My dh and I are youth group leaders and we, too, have to raise money each year. We have had comments from parents and grandparents, etc. that they are tired of kids selling them things....they like to see the kids actually doing something to earn the money (I know...selling is work....I think some of the kids just handed people a brochure & called it good.)

Our biggest fund raisers of the year involve serving:

Pancake breakfast (which you said you did)
Themed dinner (this year is a western themed night)
Clean-up weekends (we show up and do the yard work, painting, etc.)

We also take advantage of all "card" deals in town. If a store offers a guest card with a percentage going to a charity we sign up and ask others to do the same.

For selling our best things - when we do it - are for sub sandwiches and meat...a "stock your freezer" sale...

Good luck! :santa:
