Are there any tables for two at the Biergarten? I've never seen the inside of the restaurant but have always heard that seating is at long tables so you are seated with folks you don't know. Thanks for the help!!!

We've gone twice, and both times, we were seated at a table with a couple who were not in our group. The first year, our group filled one table and there were 6 of us at another table and a dad and son were seated with us, and this year there were 6 of us, and we were seated at a table that already had a couple sitting there. I don't remember seeing any tables for 2.

Bobbi :)

Thanks for the info Bobbi. We're not anti-social by nature but it's hard to meet new people with food in your mouth. ;)

All the seating is for eight people. Don't worry about meeting other people. It's just my husband and myself now but we've done this with our son as well. It's been relatively painfree. The only time we have had a problem was when we were seated with two older females traveling together. They sat across from each other. Then another couple who also sat across from each other. Then it was us and we sat next to each other. Then a single guy sat down across from me. Everything was fine and we started talking to the single guy. The couple next to me got up, got their food, bolted it down and quickly left. They didn't even talk to each other! After they left, the five of us had a great time together.

When we visited the Biergarten, we talked to the couple next to us at the long table. It turned out he was a longtime CM (he worked in maintenance at MK) and his wife. He told us lots of interesting info about WDW, where he'd worked since it opened.

You don't need to be super social if that isn't your style. My family of four sat at a table for 8 with another family of four (mom/dad/2 teens). We said hello, where are you from, where are you staying, etc.? That was about it. No one was rude, everyone just left to get their food and when we returned, each family began their own conversations within their own families. When it was time to leave, we exchanged good-bye pleasantries again and that was that. I think you can be as social (or not so social) as you want to be.

Since WDW smashes all their tables so close together at their restaurants-we've started just being super friendly to our 'tablemates' next to us. We've had a great time and have met some very interesting folks. Never have we had anyone NOT be willing to chat with us.

My DH, his little sister and I ate there last March, I loved it but they hated sitting with complete strangers. We got four rude business men at our table. They just ignored us and acted like we weren't even there. It didn't really bother me I enjoyed the entertainment so much. DH says he doesn't want to go back until we have a bigger party.

We've eaten there a few times (and we are anti-social :) ). It's fun and pain-free.

j/k about being anti-social, but I'd prefer to not eat at a 'group' table. Still, we've most always had friendly and interesting people at our table, and the other times, the folks just kept to themselves and we all enjoyed our meal very much. Since we have young kids, I'm actually more concerned with others who are seated with us...who chooses to sit at a table with someone elses possibly three bratty kids? We make our kids mind their manners at any meal, so it's a nice experience (I hope) for others, but the look on others faces when they are brought to our table ranges from 'oh well' to 'oh no'.

It sells more beer to put strangers at the same table :teeth:

One note, I think some/all of the tables are 10-person tables. When we went last year with a party of 7, I was looking forward to having a table to ourselves (recalling incorrectly the tables seated 8). Not to be...another couple was there. Again, they were very nice. The restaurant had a few empty tables, so they could've put us at one maybe...but we went with it.

I don't recall seeing any 2-person tables. Maybe they should put a few in there and charge $5 more per person at those. :teeth:
