What exactly is the Princess Faire? If I get there when it opens what is the schedule of events???

I know they have the hair salon thing and I am not interested in that.

What about the story time? How many kids are involved in this (100's ?)

If you want to talk to a princess and skip the story is that possible?

We will be at DLR in Oct mid-week and just wondering if we could get in and out of this rather quickly -- like under an hour?

The Princess Faire has a little gift shop area, some coloring stations, a live entertainment stage and a place to meet the princesses. We we went in early Dec. '06 we waited in line for 45 mins to meet the Princesses. The princess change every 30 mins, so you can't guarentee who you'll see. You go from Princess to Princess, have them sign your autograph book in you have one, take a pic and then go to the next one. Now, my daughter wanted to see Snow White and she left halfway through our time in line. I asked a CM if she was coming back, he confirmed she was and once we go to the front of the line, he let us wait to the side until she came back (it was the one princess my daughter hadn't met and desperatly wanted to). The show was pretty good, lasting maybe 15-20 minutes.

If it's as crowded as it was when we last time, we won't do it again, but it was nice to do once.

:lmao: :rotfl2: Sorry, this just cracked me up.

We went in January mid-week (off season). We were in line at opening with what appeared to be a smallish sized crowd ahead of us. We stood in line for 60 minutes and still had at least a 45 minute wait ahead of us just to see a princess when we pulled our dd out of line. RIDICULOUS!

At that time there were no schedules posted of events happening at the theater. You had to ask a CM what times the royal coronations and storytelling were, and they would not guarantee any specific princesses would be performing.

Needless to say we were thoroughly unimpressed by PFF and will just pray for the return of the princesses to the gardens around the castle where they belong! princess:

I have to agree with DangerMouse that it's not the best way to see the princesses if that's what your main goal is (not that I can see another reason to be there, lol). Later that same trip we were able to see both Snow White and Cinderella over in the backlot section of DCA. The princess lunch/dinner might another way to go too.

We did Ariel's last year and thoroughly enjoyed our time and meal there. DD was 1 yr old at the time. We may do it again because DS (who is 4yrs old) thought it was pretty neat to see princess during dinner too.

Just wasn't sure on the whole PFF thing. I have certainly seen a ton of negative comments, though.

For us, it won't matter which princesses we see since DD isn't old enough to have a preference.

Do you have to sit thru a show to see the princesses? During the show can you still meet the princesses or are they on stage for the performance? Just wondering how all of the works.

The only way we will do this is IF we are in that part of the park while it is going on AND there isn't a loooong line.

Thanks for your help!!

I will also check out DCA backlot area too - thanks for the tip!

You can see the princesses during the show, they'll just be different ones from the show. But the line to see the princesses is seperate from the show all together, so really two different things going on. And no you don't have to see the show.

As far as the backlot at DCA, Cinderella is at the Backlot Stage (near Monsters Inc) for the drawing thing (or she was as of Dec.) Mickey and Woody are also there and will sign books, take pics after the show. We saw Snow White in the Animation building (she grabbed my then 2.5 yr old's hand and skipped around the room with her!), but the characters change there (we've seen Donald and Chicken Little too) so no guarantee on her.

It's my understanding that the princesses in the backlot area are there for the Drawn to the Animation show. You can see them during the show and they will sign autographs after. They rotate the characters in this show so there is no guarantee of who will be there. Normally it's two princesses and two other characters. I agree that this is still a great way to meet a princess since they won't be roaming around DL anymore. :(

We've only seen the show at PFF a friend of mine plays the Queen in the show and another friend of mine is one of the queen's helpers. I suppose if it's still around the next time we go we'll have to either stand in line or go to Ariel's Grotto to meet the princesses. My DD is now a princess fanantic.princess:

Both of the times we've seen the Drawn to Animation show it's been Cinderella, Mickey and Woody. Snow White was inside the Animation area (where Turtle Talk with Crush, etc is), but wasn't part of the Drawn to Animation show.

I have pictures and a short video clip I will post as soon as I get them uploaded.

The line for the princesses is on the back side of the wall with the two blue shields on it. Sorry I don't have a picture of the line!

pppiglet - THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!

How awesome to see what it looks like in photos and video!

This looks cute so we may try to hit the show.

Ok, this picture truly impresses me. When we were there in January there was absolutely NO schedule posted which was the most frustrating thing ever. Knowing that there is an actual schedule of events makes me hopeful that we MAY try this again in November (not the line to meet/greet, but the shows/storytimes).

One very important question . . . will any CM reveal the "proposed" schedule of storytime princesses as in which princess is telling the story at a certain time? They refused to tell us that information in January.

One more question....

What is the difference between the storytelling vs. the coronation?

What is the difference between the storytelling vs. the coronation?

Storytelling is where the children sit around one princess as she tells her own story to them.

I've never seen the Royal Coronation but I understand that it involves more than one princess and is more of a stage production where all the little princesses in the audience are deemed or coronated (is that a word?) as princesses.
