I booked the 4 for 7 deal with less than 4 day tickets (long story, we have two day tickets already)...I was originally told if wanted to modify the tickets I had to do so by today, when the dela originally ended. It is now extended. I am assuming the code number hasn't changed.

I'm hoping to surprise my family adding the extra days, but it would really help if I could wait a little longer to add that extra cost....

I called Disney and got two different answers....

First CM said I could still get ticket deal up until I check-in.

Second CM first said I ahd to do it today...then when I told her that the offer was extended, she said, okay, you can modify up until Jan 24th when offer expires.

Incidentally, Jan 24th is after my forty day mark, whenthe current package must be paid in full.

If you are just looking to add ticket days , you can do that until at least 45 days before, which is final payment date. Often, if you are going to modify the package to something that costs more, they do not charge the fee, but that is not guaranteed and will depend on who you talk to. If you don't like the answer, call back and get a different cm :)

I don't know for sure. But I can see where you would have to do it before check in as the 7/4 deal on tickets is part of a package.
Normally the tickets are not discounted anymore than usual. (Just the regular the longer you play the less you pay per day strategy.)
But with the 7/4 package tickets they truly are discounted. So I am guessing that is where the difference is.
Personally I would not try to upgrade it at check in since the tickets are part of a 7/4 discounted package. Guests cannot upgrade a WDTC MYW package at check in. The packages have to be paid in advance. I am going to guess this is the case here too.

This was debated when the offer first came out. I think the final result was do not expect any type of discounts on the tickets if upgraded after the deadline for the offer. You can, of course, upgrade at check-in or any time before hand paying full price. Anything under the 45 day mark will require payment in full at time of the change.

I believe that was decided upon because: 1) you may always make changes to packages at any time--the only limit being needing to add dining no later than 72 hours prior to check-in, and 2) the computers will not allow a discount/code to be used that has expired.

So, in a nutshell if you want up to three days free, upgrade by January 24. If it doesn't matter that they are free, you may upgrade at anytime, including at the parks--as long as you don't exceed 14 days from first use.

Personally, if you know you will want more days, I'd save the other 2 day tickets for a future trip and go with the free days. In the long run, it will save you more money. Especially if you add no expiration since that price is based on how many days you purchase on your ticket.

Exactly what I was thinking. Yes, tickets can be upgraded at check in. But not with the discount offered through the package.
The ticket upgrade would not be 7/4. It would be whatever the normal rate is. Which of course is usually not much extra. But free is obviously better than paying something.
It's the same principle as not being able to add dining at check in. This is because it is a WDTC package, which has to be paid in full prior to arrival.
