Need expert advice

I’m new to DVC with one stay last year and saved so could spend points this year at RR this past May for daughter‘s college graduation. Because 40 points were for use UY18, I decided to rebook when it was announced they would re-open. I’m suppose to go next week Most points would have expired end of July (except for 8 points I borrowed from 2020). i can’t risk the huge uptick in Orlando (my mom was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer). What are my options? Rent the reservation? Hope they’ll give me an extension? Any thoughts and advice would be REALLY appreciated.

I'm sorry to hear about your situation. I would call and explain your situation and see if they can just return your points to your use year without putting them on hold. I read that they are still doing that. I don't know if it's going to work for the ones from 2018 UY, but I would still ask. Good luck!

I edited your post to remove details of the reservations. Unfortunately, other than the 8 points, there isn’t much they can do since both resorts and parks are open.

You can certainly call but most likely depositing in RCI, even though they will be restricted might be the best option.

Of course so is renting but there are tons out there and right now not an easy task.
