Need experienced reassurance...

So I was sent into a panic yesterday because I dropped the ball on making a character breakfast for my son's birthday. Since its supposed to be a low time for WDW, I didnt think there would be a problem making it about 30 days from our vacation...anyway...yesterday everything was sold out.

So I called back this morning to check on Chef Mickey's for Breakfast or Dinner for our length of stay, and still...nothing.

The CM did however give me the alternative of Ohana Character Breakfast.

So 2 questions for you experienced folks...

1) The CM said that Mickey was there in addition to Lilo and Stitch...can you guys confirm that? My son likes Stitch, but not enough for it to be him and Lilo only.

2) Is this a suitable alternative to Chef Mickeys? Or should I continue to call each day to see if there are openings?

We'll be eating there for the first time on our upcoming trip too...

From everything I've read on here (and just read on allears) is that it "features" Lilo and Stitch, but Mickey and Pluto are there too.

ETA: It never hurts to keep calling if CM was your original choice, we've had to do that plenty of times as plans change. We like CM's because it has that uber-Disney atmosphere.

At Poly, breakfast the characters include Lilo and Stitch, Pluto and Mickey. It is served family style.
At Chef Mickey's breakfast, the characters include Chef Mickey, Chip, Dale and Chef Goofy. We've been there three times and Donald & Daisy and Minnie were there each time. It is a buffet.
We haven't tried Poly breakfast, but we're staying at Poly this weekend and are doing Chef Mickey's. It is kind of a tradition, and we really like Chef Mickey's breakfast.
If it were me, I'd keep the Poly reservation, but keep trying for CM, but that's just me.
Good luck and have fun!

Personally, (and I know I'm in the minority here), I'd slightly prefer the 'Ohana breakfast to Chef M's. Chef M's is incredibly chaotic, and I like the family-style service offered at 'Ohana a bit more than buffet service. Though the offereings are much more limited at 'Ohana, it's an easier start to the day.

We just did this Carater Breakfst in May & the kids loved it. We had Stitch, Mickey & Pluto. They did a conga line type parade. the CM's really were good about get the Charaters around the room. The food was ok. Our Favorite Char Breakfast is Cape May with Goofy, Chip & Dale with minnie out front.

We did the character breakfast there a couple of trips ago! Thought it was great! The conga line through the whole restarant is much fun. I say if you really have your heart set on Chef M keep calling, but keep your ressie. I love the Poly and would do that one again.

We did Ohana for my son's fifth birthday last year and Mickey was not only there, but gave him special attention when he found out it was his birthday. At 9 AM Mickey went and fetched one of those huge cupcakes, then he pretended to lick the icing off of all the little paper umbrellas stuck in the cupcake. He stayed at our table for at least 5 minutes. Mickey is my son's favorite and he loved it! I think your son will have fun at Ohana. :)

This is perfect! Exactly the reassurance I wanted. We ate at Chef Mickey's last year, and it was great...but Ohana's looks like a great experience too... If mickey, pluto and stitch are there...he'll be in heaven!!!!

Thanks for all the responses!

I think you will like it alot! We had a great time there, Pluto is a riot and Mickey was very nice. DD got to hold Stitchs hand during the parade and was in 7th heaven.

i would like to add that I have never seen any Charater work the room in to such a frenzy, as when Stitch came out. The kids went crazy.

'Ohana breakfast is great, we did it twice..you'll love it!
But do call again & again if you really want Chef Mickey's. On Halloween night, I got us a dinner there by calling early that morning. I'd been trying to get a dinner ADR there for months!

I love Ohana's for breakfast with Stitch.

If possible I would say do both. But if you really like CM, keep calling and you might still get it.
