Okay DD (5) and I will be headed to WDW late august. Initally I had decided to skip Epcot like in the past until she was older. :confused3 Well now we are including it. :thumbsup2 Where I need some expert help is what are the must dos form a five year olds point of view. She will be 40" but does not like thrill rides. We will do the PSB breakfast and Turtle Talk with Crush.

What else should we include. We will probably only give Epcot two half days. One morning and one afternoon night. Which I know what really do Epcot justice but hey she's 5 we'll be back!! LOL!!

As always thanks for any tips/advice. :worship:

- The Living Seas
- Soarin' (it's a gentle ride, my 3 year old loved it!)
- Playing at Innoventions
- Spaceship Earth - the history doesn't interest the younger set, but seeing all the stars on the ceiling and then going backwards on the way down really impressed my son!
- Figment - the ride and the photolab at the end of the ride
- Mexico boat ride (real gentle)
- Norway boat ride (one hill, but not too bad)
- Living with the Land - quiet boat ride and you can point out all the fruit they're growing

If she's into characters, try to get there at park opening. A double-decker bus comes to the big fountain and all the characters come out and greet the kids and it's a fantastic time to meet them and take pictures because all the adults are running to Soarin' or TT so it's not crowded at all. My son had a BLAST!

If she's into music there's lots of performers outside the countries at different times (you can get a schedule). My son loved watching the Mariachi band outside Mexico and the drummers outside America.

When my DD was 5, one of her favorite things in Epcot was getting her Passport stamped in each country. They would each write her name in their language and write her a special message. They would read it in their language and then translate it to English. She was wearing a Princess hat at the time and they all made a big deal about her being royalty! She loved it!

It was her favorite park on that trip!

Also, at the KidCot stations at each of the countries where they can stamp their passport, they can also make a mask for free. China had a origami artist in the toy museum. You might get a chance to see the candy making lady in Japan. There is a low hedge maze in the back of the UK area. There is a beautiful stained glass Beauty and the Beast window in France. You can climb on the viking ship in Norway. Germany has a little electric train area. The fireworks show is incredible! Try to get a dinner reservation at Rose and Crown and watch the fireworks from your table on the patio. and try to catch Off Kilter in Canada for dancing! Biergarten is a great restaurant with a great family friendly floor show, complete with polka dance floor!

A great idea we had with our kids was to give them their own cameras. We got each of them one of those disposable ones, and let them take pictures of whatever interested them. It helped them appreciate the more "boring" parts that dh and I really wanted to see. They were a little older, but it might still be fun for your 5 year old.

Don't forget to look at the sidewalk after dark in the Furture world area! And check out the "bouncing water" fountains outside of the Imagination pavillion.

Just to name a few... :goodvibes

My youngest has always loved dinosaurs so we always do Universe of Energy. Don't miss Turtle Talk with Crush at The Living Seas. My kids enjoy the movies in Canada and (what's the other one?) I have to say, two of my kids have always considered EPCOT their favorite park, even when they were pre-schoolers. My son has always said SSE is his top pick in ALL of WDW! Lots of the street performers in World Showcase are fun too. Everything in The Land and Imagination is fun/kid friendly!
