We will be driving down and need some help finding quickest routes from OKW to Publix. I understand there is a new Publix behind the Goodings Plaza, is this true, if so how do I get there from OKW? We also plan to spend a day at Sea World for the first time. Can anyone help with an route and any tips for Sea World ?

Thank you for any help you can give us.

Do you need Publix specifically? I don't know about a new Publix near Goodings--however, there is a new (within the last year or so) Winn-Dixie near Goodings. Turn right out of OKW. Go to the end of Community Drive and turn right again. Follow the Road to Hotel Plaza Blvd and turn or bear left onto Hotel Plaza. Drive down Hotel Plaza Blvd, turn LEFT at the traffic light. (If you drive straight across at the light youll be in Crossroads Shopping Plaza--don't do that.) Continue down the road, (you'll pass the Ale House on your left). Keep going--not far--and Winn-Dixie comes up on your right. It is set back a bit in a small shopping area. It is a lovely store.

If you turn right at the previously mentioned traffic light (at the end of Hotel Plaza), and drive down the road for a while, there is a Publix--on the left, I believe, but it's not new.

Give the Winn-Dixie a try. We were pleased with what we found there.

I shopped at Winn-Dixie in October and it was great. Plus, it's closer than the Publix I used to shop at in Kissimmee. If you go to Winn-Dixie be sure to sign up for their shoppers card to receive advertized discounts. The card is available at the Courtesy Booth.

The Winn-Dixie website also has the weekly ad plus you can make a shopping list on-line which is handy.

If you go out Hotel Resort Blvd and turn right and then go under the I-4 overpass and turn left at the first set of lights and follow that road, it will lead to the new Publix.

We usually go to the Winn-Dixie - we have found coming out of the newer Publix back towards to be very heavy traffic sometimes

thanks

I agree with Winn-Dixie we use that all the time now, it is close and easy to get in and out.

Goodings, straight across 535 as you come out of Hotel Plaza Blvd, is or at least use to be open 24 hrs. They do have higher prices, but if you need something at 3 am, they are open.

Maybe one of the Moderators could post a permanent thread with directs to various Publix and other such popular off-site attractions. These questions pop up often enough to possibly merit a place at the top of page 1.

As for getting to SeaWorld from OKW, just take East I-4. Best I remember, it should be about 10 minutes if traffic is running smooth. You will see signs to the entrance off of I-4. Sorry I couldnt be more specific but last trip was our firsst time driving.

Actually the New Publix is about as close or closer than the WD. Just take 536 to I drive and go North a short distance. It's easy to get on 536 directly. Never go out of WDW using 535 by goodings unless you must be over that way anyway, too much traffic.

Well, the higher prices do mean it tends to be less crowded and it's not like you're paying resort store prices for stuff....if you only need a few things, the 'higher' cost might be worth the quicker turnaround. Don't they also have a decent wine selection?

Just a thought.

Thanks Dean - did not think of that way - it would be way less traffic

A new Publix that is easy to get to is just below Gaylord Palms. Just head East on Oceola Parkway out of WDW, turn right at the I-Drive traffic light, Gaylord Palms is at that intersection. The Publix is about half mile down on the left.

Is that before any tolls?
