So I'm having a terrible time deciding on our meal plan...I think I have it finally set for our 6 day DxDp and 4 day OOP (switching resorts) meals, but I would like your input, comments, recommendations etc...we're open to just about anything (DFi is pretty adventurous with food)

Some quick background...we're staying at POR and WL for 10 nights with 2 days in each park and 3 free days (the exact dates of park days aren't chosen yet, depends on F! and La Nouba showings), we have park hoppers, but ONLY for EMH and our departure day. This time around we are sticking with one park per day (again except for EMH...and possibly a F! show if necessary)

So...here's my plan let me know what you think

DxDP days (36 credits total)
Arrival (late afternoon)
Dinner - Big River Grille (the menu from Boatwrights doesn't appeal to us)

MK 1
Breakfast - early CP
Lunch - Liberty Tree Tavern (DFi is pretty excited about this :confused3)
Dinner - Cali Grill, Narcoossee's, OR Yachtsman Steakhouse

AK 1
Breakfast - Tusker House
Lunch - snack credit or OOP
Dinner - Wolfgang Puck Cafe (DTD)

EP 1
Breakfast - Chef Mickey
Lunch - Teppan Edo (DFi request)
Dinner - Coral Reef

Free Day (Typhoon Lagoon OR La Nouba)
Breakfast - Olivia's
Lunch - Snack or OOP
Dinner - Boma (early sitting if La Nouba, latter sitting if TL)

DHS 1
Breakfast - Grand Floridian Cafe (or Ohana???)
Lunch - snack or OOP
Dinner - Hollywood Brown Derby (F! package) - I need a backup in case I can't get this though :confused3

EP 2 (moving day)
Breakfast - Kona
Lunch - Cantina de San Angel (DFi request)
Dinner - Biergarten

OOP days (we plan on stocking up on food at Main Street Bakery with snack credits from the dining plan for these breakfasts)
MK 2
Breakfast - Main Street Bakery
Lunch - Caseys
Dinner - Pacos Bill

DHS 2
Breakfast - bakery snack food
Lunch - Sci-Fi Dine In
Dinner - ??????

free day (Typhoon Lagoon OR La Nouba)
Breakfast -?
Lunch - ?
Dinner - if we do La Nouba this night we'll probably go back to Wolfgang Puck

AK 2 (departure/hopping day)
Breakfast - WCC
Lunch - ???
Dinner - not sure if we'l even still be around for dinner

In all honesty, it doesn't sound like the DxDP is for you. I don't know which 6 days you are on the plan, but all your TS credits don't equal 36. If you are having a hard time planning things out, might I suggest dropping to the regular dining plan and paying for some meals OOP, instead of waisting a ton of credits on the DxDP?

I counted 36 credits on the 6 days she noted were DxDP days.

That said, it's a LOT of eating. I personally think DxDP works best when you do 2 meals a day - breakfast at a TS/buffet and dinner at a signature restaurant. With this plan, we just had a snack midday and it worked perfectly.

That's what I get when I try to do simple math while at work. I was thinking that there was a need for 36 credits total per person... just one of those days for me.

I think with your plan you will be so full of food you won't be able to move. Plus you'll be puking your guts out if you attempt to ride anything fast or spinny on the days with 3table credit meals.

My advice to you is to get the basic dining plan (1 CS, 1TS, 1 snack per day) and you'll have plenty of food.

Cheers!

Max

Both DFi and myself are fairly large eaters, we usually eat 3 meals a day...fairly large ones, so this would be no different for us than normla. If we were on the regular DDP we would be paying OOP for more meals than we would have on the plan

besides there are only 2 days that have 3 sit down meals, and one day with a CS lunch and 2 TS...the rest are just 2 meals a day

I'm also assuming you have no problems with spending more of your time in the restaurants or on Disney transportation to restaurants (assuming you won't have a car) than in the parks.

While I can't make extensive comments, here's my 2 cents:

Dinner - Cali Grill, Narcoossee's, OR Yachtsman Steakhouse -LOVED California Grill! The food and view were fantastic. We're repeating this one next month. :woohoo:

AK 1
Breakfast - Tusker House
Lunch - snack credit or OOP
Dinner - Wolfgang Puck Cafe (DTD)

EP 1
Breakfast - Chef Mickey
Lunch - Teppan Edo (DFi request) my DH loves this one. I enjoy Japanese hibachi so it's good, but nothing much different than hibachi outside of WDW. I don't think you'll hate it though. Tasty food, nice portions.
Dinner - Coral Reef -enjoyed the experience. The food was fine. It was rather loud and overrun with children but not too bad.

Free Day (Typhoon Lagoon OR La Nouba)
Breakfast - Olivia's

EP 2 (moving day)
Breakfast - Kona we're trying this one next month! can't wait!!
Lunch - Cantina de San Angel (DFi request)
Dinner - Biergarten

OOP days (we plan on stocking up on food at Main Street Bakery with snack credits from the dining plan for these breakfasts)
MK 2
Breakfast - Main Street Bakery -excellent choice!
Lunch - Caseys
Dinner - Pacos Bill -also a great choice!

DHS 2
Breakfast - bakery snack food
Lunch - Sci-Fi Dine In
Dinner - ?????? -I'm a little stuck on this one too :confused3 If you aren't opposed to leaving the park, Kona Cafe is great for dinner/lunch too.

free day (Typhoon Lagoon OR La Nouba)
Breakfast -? maybe Boma? I know you have this one for dinner but our breakfast here in May was sooooo good!
Lunch - ? -maybe if you're in DTD try Earl of Sandwich? This was another favorite from our past trip. I ate here 3 times!!
Dinner - if we do La Nouba this night we'll probably go back to Wolfgang Puck

AK 2 (departure/hopping day)
Breakfast - WCC
Lunch - ??? -I always hear good things about the CS at the Poly. If you're going to be in AK though, possibly Tusker House...or maybe Flametree? We had a bad experience at Yak and Yeti CS but I also hear a lot of people like it.
Dinner - not sure if we'l even still be around for dinner

I'm also assuming you have no problems with spending more of your time in the restaurants or on Disney transportation to restaurants (assuming you won't have a car) than in the parks.

Definitely do have our own car...we've both been to Disney several time and would like to try thinks we haven't (ie. MANY of the restaurants)

Besides I asked for input on the restaurants we have chosen...NOT input on what we are choosing to do with out time/money etc...than to those who actually gave their thoughts on the meals themselves :thumbsup2 it's much appriciated

Teppan Edo - a Family Tradition... WE usually do around 2pm and LOVE this whole experience !

WCC Breakfast..... LOVED this .... had a lot of fun...

F! Package... I've done H&V and HBD.... I can't wait to try MM's.... I would use that as your back up plan. I really WANTED to LOVE HBD... BUT did NOT... so hoping I just hit it on a bad day... I will try it again...

Hugs,
Mary
