Need Dining Help

We are a party of 4 and made most of our reservations for our trip. We just found out relatives are going the same time as we are and am trying to include them in some of our dining reservations. They are a party of 5. I am having a hard time finding reservations for a party of 9. I am trying to do everything through the MDE app and also trying on the WDW web site. No luck. If I call Disney reservation on the phone would I have better luck or do they see the same availability as the app and web site?

They see the same things that you see on the website. If you can't get one for 9, then make a separate one for 5 in their name for as close to the same time as yours as you can get. You could then ask to be seated together or next to each other when you check in at the podium.

If this is for the trip during Christmas week, it will be very very hard to find a reservation for 9. As Minnie Mum said, try looking for a separate reservation for 5 at the same time as your reservation. You can also look for a res for 6 since a party of 5 or 6 will be seated at a 6 top table. Keep checking online and also subscribe to the cancellation thread for the month.

If you are able to get a second reservation for 5 or 6, you can ask to be seated together or near each other when you arrive at the restaurant. The castmembers will do their best to accommodate, but being Christmas week you may have to wait a long time or it may not be possible.

You can call the dining line to see if your reservation can be modified to 9, but the phone castmember will only be able to do it if the larger table is available.

I agree with the above. I was trying to book for ten a couple years ago and it was impossible. Had to just split the group up and meet after dinner. Ended up working out fine!
