I know that lots of people have different opions. But what are your favorite family places to eat at WDW? What ones should I not miss? There are me, DH, DS (13), DD (12),DS (9), and DD (3). I am starting to save for ADR but I have no idea where is the best places for family fun....

Thanks so much for your help!

Are you looking for something loud and interactive or just a place that the kids can eat and mett chara?

Great fun atmostphere for kids - Chef Mickeys(lots of food and fun) and Liberty Tree (good home cooking)

Best steak I have ever eaten out and pretty dining room - Coral Reef

Did not care for Ohana's
Just my families opinion

Our family (DH, 2 DDs - ages 5 & 7, and DS - 2) went to WDW in Jan. Here are the opinions from the group.

Fun and enjoyable:
LTT
Princess Breakfast at Norway

Good food:
LeCellier

OK, but not a must do:
HBD

Did not like:
'Ohana
Boma

Can you tell us what kinds of food they like and dislike? For the younger ones the kids menus are fairly consistent, but the older ones I'm assuming will be eating from the adults menu.

DD's favorites in no particular order- 50's primetime, sci-fi, coral reef, whispering canyon cafe and the lilo/stitch breakfast at 'ohana. She also loved the hoop-de-doo.

Have you looked at the menus on the dining page? http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/dining.htm

For character meals, we enjoy Chef Mickey's, LTT, and the Cape May breakfast. Our kids are 11 and 5. DH and I enjoyed LeCellier, but there wasn't much that my 11 yo wanted to eat.

A couple of times we asked the kids where they wanted to eat (we were staying at YC) and BOTH times they requested the food court at POR!! We were on the DDP this last trip so we had ADRs just about every day. Next year we won't be on the DDP (unless we *happen* to hit free dining, which hasn't happened for us yet) and we won't do nearly as many TS meals. The kids enjoy the options at the food courts and counter service restaurants in the parks, and DH and I don't care that much about where we eat:).

For character meals, we loved

LTT dinner
Crystal Palace lunch

For non character family friendly ts, we loved

Ohana dinner
Kona dinner

Have a great trip no matter what you choose!

We love Crystal Palace with the Pooh characters. LTT was pretty good too. Le Cellier has awesome steaks. For counter service at MK, Cosmic Rays is great. We shared the chicken and ribs platter and it was plenty of good food.

I ditto the Cosmic Rays for counter service -- lots of variety for everyone.

As far as table service, we love Chef Mickey's. I have only had it for breakfast but it is awesome and the characters are there too. I thought the menu looked great for dinner, so I'm hoping to do it once on our next trip.

Here is my opinion...but it is so hard b/c everyone is so different...

I've been to quite a few restaurants in all my trips. My favorites are as follows

Princess breakfast-Norway (Epcot)
Kona-Polynesian Hotel
Le Cellier-Canada (Epcot)
Crystal Palace- (Magic Kingdom)

My family loves Ohana, that is our favorite. Last year was the 1st year we did DDP, so this year we are eating at all new restaurants except Ohana, which we love so much we are going back. (sit down, we don't schedule CS, we just eat what looks good in the area where we happen to be when we get hungry for lunch) Last year we ate at Ohana, Chef Mickey's, Crystal Palace, California Grill, Nine Dragons, Alfredo DiRoma, Spoodles, Hollywood and Vine, and Coral Reef. The only place we DIDN'T like was Coral Reef. The atmosphere was lovely, but no-one cared for their meal. (except for the lobster bisque, which was phenomenal!)

I just asked my DD what her favorite restaurants were and she said 1900 Park Faire and Crystal Palace. Her reason was because both places have kiddie buffets where she could get her own food! :rotfl2:

I can honestly say though, they were 2 of my favorites as well. The food was great at both places.

My mom and I both LOVED Boma too, but we are more adventurous eaters.

I can't wait for next year, I have already started my ADR list of "must dos" :rotfl:

We haven't eaten everywhere but here's the opinions of my 2 DD's
(one was 7, and one was 3 last trip)

My 7 yr old liked: 'Ohana's dinner, the PSB breakfast Norway, in EPCOT, Chef Mickey's dinner

My 4 yr old liked: the Rainforest Cafe at the AAK (her absolute favorite),the Princess breakfast (PSB), Chef Mickey's, Coral Reef (because you could see the fishies....not the food apparently)

Next trip, we're trying 1900 Park Faire. I loved CRT on our 1st trip in Aug 200 but I don't know if I would like it after the changes. For CS, Cosmic Ray's is good, and we all liked Cape May Cafe Clambake at the Y&B Club. My DH's a big eater, so we do buffets quite a bit.

We went last year and our family favorite was Libery Tree Tavern and Wispering Canyon. The food and atmosphere were excellent!!!

We didn't like Rainforest Cafe. Food was bad, but atmosphere was good. Same with Chef Mickey for Dinner.

Cosmic Rays for counter service
We really enjoyed our resort meal at Shutters in CBR.
Chef Mickey's
Sci-Fi
Rainforest Cafe
Garden Grill

We just got back, and we all really enjoyed Garden Grill, they had good food (the au gratin potatoes were yummy!), and lots of time with the characters (Mickey, Pluto, Chip and Dale) for DS 20months
