My husband needs steel toe work shoes for his job. He's on his feet in these shoes for 10 hours, 4 days a week. I've tried 3 different brands and none of them have been conformtable for him. At this point, I don't really care how much they cost, I just want a really good pair that won't hurt his feet. I'm sure I've already spent as much on these 3 pair that a good pair will cost. :(
We looked into Dr. Scholls inserts. We used the machine and they recommended the inserts that are $60 so I'd rather just get a nice pair of nice boots than a $40 pair with $60 inserts.
Any suggestions?

I work on concrete floors 10 to 12 hrs a day 6 days a week and the most comfortable shoes i ever had are RED WINGS. They cost a little more but are worth every cent

My hubby works on concrete floors and swears by Redwings -- may pay a little bit more but worth every penny. He wears them at home at times also.

Just got my DH a pair of Red Wings. DS has a pair of Carhartt. Both say they are comfortable.

Keen now makes steel toed shoes. My boyfriend swears by them.

My DH upgraded from the cheaper brand to the Keens and he LOVES them. On his feet all day long and never complains. They are not heavy either. Oh and his company actually gives them a $75 credit twice a year towards the steel toed boots. So it's not as terrible- maybe your DH's company has the same thing at his job.

These are the ones he has

Red Wings. Nothing but properly-fitted Red Wings. A water resistance preparation can be applied periodically. Make sure your DH wears the socks he will wear on the job when he tries them on. You may find coupons for these online or in your local shopper's magazine or envelope you receive by mail. A good pair costs $100 or more, but they last a long time. Your DH should have two pairs and rotate them so one pair has a chance to dry out while he's wearing the other. They can be resoled if necessary for longer wear.

If you itemize your income taxe return, steel-toed safety boots count as a work uniform/safety equipment.

I like my Wolverine DuraShock Composite-Toe Boots. I am on my second pair in 4 years.

Thank you everyone. We have a Red Wing store within a mile of his work so we'll go there and check them out. I was able to find a $25 coupon on retailmenot too. I checked out the Keen website and there is a shoe store that carries them within a few blocks of the Red Wing store but I'll have to call to see if they carry the steel toe shoes. I would like him to at least try them on in the store to see what he likes and then I can search to see if I can get them cheaper on-line. Thanks again!
