Need clean, affordable hotel near TPA

We're a family of four planning on flying into TPA in April and won't arrive until approx. 1 AM. Consequently, we're trying to locate a decent hotel with 24 hour shuttle service that's less than 5 miles from TPA. Since it's a short stay, I'd like to keep the price around $100 if possible, but avoid the strip clubs, bed bugs, roaches, mold, etc. that I'm finding in a lot of hotel reviews. Anyone have any suggestions?

We always stay at the Doubletree on N, Rocky Point Dr. It's less than 10 mins back to TPA and a beautiful place, right on the bay. Not sure what the going rate is though. They do have a shuttle though...not absolutely sure what the hours are.

A few years ago we stayed at a nice Doubletree hotel in Tampa for one night because of a flight cancellation. It was no more than two miles from the airport terminal, across the street from a high school on West Cypress Street. As I chose the hotel for (1) price and (2) location I know that we spent less than $100. The hotel had an airport shuttle bus.

Look for deals for the Marriott right at the airport. We got it for $110 a night, and it was nice to get off the plane, grab a bag, and walk to our room.

Thanks for the feedback, everyone. DH stumbled across an airlines rewards card he forgot he had, and it has just enough miles on it for one night at the Crowne Plaza. It's not a card he plans to use anymore, so we're just going to use up the miles and then cancel it. The less out-of-pocket cash needed on this trip, the better!
