need clarification on 30 day out cancellation

We have reservations for Feb 3 - 8 at BWV. My sister just broke her wrist and looks like she will need surgery. Am I correct that since we will be within the 30 day window when we cancel the points will go into holding? We can use the holding points to book but we have to book within the 60 day mark? We borrowed the points from our 2014 (UY Sept) so we have until Aug 31, 2014 to use them. Thanks.

Yes, that is correct. If you wanted to rebook for May 1, you could call around March 1 (give or take a day).

Yep - and it's a true 60 days - not 2 months in advance.

I've had to use points in holding a couple times and with a little flexibility on resort and days it was not too difficult.

Thanks for the good wishes. We definitely decided to cancel.....even if she doesn't have surgery, who wants to spend a week in Disney with a cast above the elbow???
