Our daughter will be 2 yrs 7 mos when we go to Disneyland in 3 weeks.

My husband just asked how DL tells if your child is 2 or 3? She's tall for her age. Is it honor system or should I be prepared with her birth certificate to prove she really is 2?

It's on the honor system. Please don't bring her real birth certificate on vacation!

You don't need her birth certificate. They'll just ask you--or maybe her--how old she is.

I've never seen them ask, especially if the guest is in a stroller. They are not much for confrontation.

I make my wife sit in the stroller and I tell the CM at the gate she’s under 3, and I’ve never had to buy her a ticket.

:lmao:MrsSmith9. I'm right there with you... Everyone at my house except DH uses the stroller as a chair at DL (and soccer games too); so nice!

OMG that is hilarious!!!!!! :lmao::lmao:

OP I have seen the admissions CM say to a couple that they will need a ticket for their child before, but this was a child who was clearly over 3, in fact I'm sure his little brother was probably 3. It was a couple who pretended not to speak English to the CM but spoke perfect English after they were in the park. We were behind them in line, the CM asked how old the older boy was (didn't question the younger one at all) and they seriously spoke in broken English that they didn't understand, the CM finally let them in but she did say "you'll need a ticket for him next time or proof of age". We followed them in and they had stopped to put their tickets away, well the Mom says to the Dad (in perfect English), "guess we can't do that again, we will have to get him his own ticket from now, maybe it's time to just get APs"........no accent, nothing, they were scamming the system. But they still got away with it.

We took my youngest DD for her 3rd birthday. She was 2 at arrival but turned 3 the next day. We were never asked once....and BTW as long as they are 2 at arrival they are 2 the entire trip when it comes to tickets and character meals/buffets.

Last year, we were only asked once. (entering the monorail at DTD). i responded with his birthday and just kept on going through. (others around me were shocked and came to our defense that they would bother asking.

We had a tall then 32 month old. Never needed a birth certificate (though I think I had one somewhere)

Is 38 months a typo? Cause, you know, that's over 3 :)

We were never asked for his BC in May when we went (in December he was 3).

I was asked once at WDW about the ticket for my (in a stroller) almost-three-year-old. I simply replied that she was 2 and they let her in. She wasn't tall for her age either. She turned 3 on our last day of that trip; I was so glad they didn't ask on her birthday, because I'm not sure what I would have said (even though I had asked on the Moms board about it before we had gone and they said the very same thing 3Minnies did).

On the flipside, later that year we went to Sea World and they asked me why I had purchased her a ticket (apparently she didn't look 3 yet to them).

Thanks for the info! My daughter can't yet tell people how old she is. I will probably bring a copy of her birth certificate - just in case!

I had a niece who at 2.5yo would tell people she was 4 (on occasion, she was also 6...) I know CMs have asked my 10yo niece how old she was for meal pricing.
