Need backpack recommendation please.

I went to Kohls yesterday and they had Jansport backpacks an additional 70% off to make it 80% off. I got 2, each were 65.00 and I paid 9.00 w/a lifetime guarantee! Can't beat that! :cool1:

Another vote for Lands' End. They've lasted for many years at our house. I had the kids' initials monogrammed on them so they'd be easy to tell from the other kids' back packs.

Both of my kids have used Jansport backpacks since they were in 6th grade.

DS in now in 11th grade and just got a new one this year because he was bored with the one he had had since 6th grade. That one, btw, is still in great shape and he uses it for camping trips.

Interesting post to get bumped back to the top but since it did I'll give my report. I read everyone's replies and told my mil that either LL Bean or LE were the most recommended. She bought the older two boys the middle-priced LLB backpacks for Christmas last year. My kids carry a ton of books and the bags are definitely big enough; however, both of them need replacements already. The liner on one is torn and the canvas is pulling away from the strap and the other bag has two broken zippers. All in all I don't think I'll get LLB again. Maybe I'll switch to LE or Jansport. I actually used my college Jansport backpack the entire 4 yrs I attended.

My girls have been using their LLbean backpack for 3 years now, and they are in great shape, they are well worth the price.....
