My hubby and I want to see a concert on a Saturday night in August at Trump's Taj. A lot of hotels are already sold out or are over $400 per night. Does anyone have any hotel recommendations for something SAFE and within easy walking distance to the Taj?

Try The Sands Hotel. Because it's "across the street" from the strip but with private moving sidewalk access, it's usually cheaper. We stayed there, it was clean and we enjoyed it.

Hello!

Sorry to hear most of the Casinos are sold out or over $400. I know for the casino I work at, we no longer sell rooms on Saturdays as the rooms are held for players in the casino.

Anyway, I would try calling AC Central Reservations. The number is 1-800-524-1706 or you can go to their website at www.acrooms.com. They can tell you who has availability, etc. Or go to Expedia.com and do a search for all hotels in Atlantic City.

If you've got a car and don't mind driving, I would suggest the Best Western in Pleasantville, or the Comfort Inn, Ramada Inn, or Hampton Inn on the Black Horse Pike. Frankly, a Saturday night in August, you are not likely to find much in the city itself...especially at an affordable rate.

We've stayed at the Quality Inn (beach block) a few times and it was fine. There's a hotel attached to the The Sands (I can't remember the name) we stayed there and it was pretty good. It had a private walkway connected to The Sands. My mom stays at The Tropicana most of the time.

You could try Harrah's as its not on the boardwalk and maybe a bit less expensive. We stay there a lot and love it. If you don't want to drive from Harrah's (which is on the bay) to the Taj, you could take the Jitney which I think is about $2.00 per person each way.

I'm still looking. The Tropicana is $450 not including tax! Sands is $350 not including tax. We will be driving to Atlantic City but I'd like to be able to walk home after the concert at Trump's Taj which will be over at 11ish.

OP I just went to AC for the Madonna concert. I ran into the same problem as you crazy rates for the room on Sat night. I was finally able to get a discounted rate at Harrahs Atlantic City ($199 for Sat and $129 for Sun) because I had a players club card thru the Grabd Casino in Biloxi. I was not sure what to expect as I had never been to AC before. The jitney was very easy to use! The concert was a blast and I would do it again in a heart beat! PS I went alone...no problems

We're having the same problem, going to see the Foo Fighters @ Borgata in a few weeks on a Friday night and rooms are ridiculous. Looks like we'll be driving home.

I'm not sure which Saturday you are visiting but the Flagship resort which is a all-suite resort has availability prices are $279.00- $339.00 per night. The resort is very nice and about two blocks from the Taj. You can visit Casino reservations .com or Flagship resort atlantic city for more info.:)

We had a terrible stay at the Black Horse Pike Hampton, and I could never recommend it to anyone. Our room wasn't all that clean, we had booked a room with a king and a sleeper sofa and they didn't ahve any left when we arrived, and tried to put us in a room with just a king bed--uh, right, DH, DS (around 17 at the time) and myself. They gave us a ratty rollaway that REAKED of smoke and acted like it was our fault that they were so impositioned, and then said they had no more pillows to go with it.

Just a terrible stay.

I also had a rotten stay at the Fairfield, I got stuck in the elevator for about 20 minutes.

We pretty much stopped going to AC concerts because of all of this.

And the management and security at the Borgota is TERRIBLE! We were front row against the barricade for Nickelback after getting there early and waiting online for three hours to get in. Then right before they went on the security guys brought these two huge baffoons with BO and their tart girlfriends and actually let them climb over the barricade and puch us back and stand in front of us. :furious:

A good friend who was working for Nickeback at the time said he had a lot of problems with his hotel room at the Borgota as well, and ultimately went and slept on the tour bus because it was cleaner!

You may want to try the Monoco in Ventnor (next town over from AC). The prices may be better. You wouldn't have to take your car. you could walk up to Jacksons ave. then take the jitney from there. Just a thought.
