wondering if anybody can assist or direct us. We originally made our reservations (2), for 12- 30through 01/09. After learning this was the Osborn lights last year, several months ago we were able to snag an additional day at the beginning. So, we have two separate reservations, one for one night (no tickets) and one for the rest of the stay with 9 day tickets. This is for DD and DH and kids. We have annual passes, so for our reservation, it did not matter. DD would like to make FP reservations for our first night, 12/29 but the tickets are all tied to reservation beginning on 12/30. We were told last night to tell them at check in and they will make them proactive to the day of check in. Works, however, that does not make FP availability for that day available for that day. Highly unlikely that TSM will be catchable the day we check in and have the Osborn lights a desert Party booked. It makes no sense to start over for very expensive tickets for one day, when you already have purchased a nine day ticket. Or, would it be better to change those to AP, and then it will not be a problem. Last nights phone call was frustrating.

1) Not knowing your situation, all I can do is make some recommendations.
. . . I would not convert to Annual Passes . . . if you feel like converting. try Hari Krishna
. . . use your existing 9-day tickets for admission, and start a day early
. . . just take a non-Park "Down-Day" in the middle of the vacation
. . . lots of people come to The Fort and don't even enter the parks, or do so sparingly
. . . there is enough to do at The Fort to keep you occupied (ask tiggerdad or bama-ed about the fun of "not doing The Parks")
2) In addition to opening up a free day, it is a great time to relax mid-trip
3) If you can't get a FP for desired ride, just take it easy in the park and people-watch
. . . sometimes, people-watching is just as much fun, and almost qualifies as an E-Ticket event :cool1:

NOTE: We have not been to Osborne Lights in quite a while. However, we are going this year, probably Dec-2, for final memories. (I worked and lived in Arkansas when the legal battles over the lights occurred and met him, so this is a double-memory.)

Thanks, I was just wondering if there was any way possible if the 9 day tickets that are "tied" to the original reservations which start on Dec 30, could somehow be moved to start on the 29th, which is the additional extra day we wvere able to secure at the beginning of our stay. Most likely, the crowds will drive some of us crazy as it is!! Have a great day.

You may use them whenever as they aren't tied to dates. Some tickets are tied to individuals (our APs and non- expiring that have days used may not be swapped to another person). We have successfully transferred tickets to different family members, not used tickets that were part of a room package deal (and upgraded/reassigned those tickets later). One thing I believe you may not do is use a ticket without park hopping options to enter another park and lose a day of that tickets entitlements. To sum up, use your tickets as you wish- once a day is used by a person, it may not be transferred to another. You may add days to a ticket, prior to using it up (or its expiration) or apply its value to upgrade. I always refer to Cheshirefigment's sticky thread on tickets, as he's a CM in ticketing and done a GREAT layout/explanation of how to use tickets.

Not being a real knowledgeable person about all these things, I thought ability to book FP+ was based on your resort ressie. As you have 29th booked, you can book FP for 29th. Then, as Rusty said, start using your tickets day earlier and skip parks another day. Anyway, that is what I thought....

Our tickets are tied to our original reservations which starts on the 3oth, and they are unable to move them to start the 29th, as they were bought as a package, room and tickets. At the Fort!?! So, the only option they offered us was to purchase a one day ticket "alone" at a new pricing tier (ouch) instead of adding another day to the package and making the package start on the 29th. With all the pixie dust and such, you would think this would be such an easy request, not quite understanding why this is not possible.

You should be fine, the tickets aren't tied to any reservation despite what the CM may have told you.

At the 60 day window, the ability to make FP+ will appear and you can make FP+ reservations for the day before your package begins based on the fact that you have a resort reservation and tickets.

Amy, thank you. We were not told that, and I guess we will find that out next week. We did book the desert party for the Osborn lights on the 29th, and thought as long as we were at Holkywood Studios, we would try to get in a couple of rides, TSM, TOT, and walk on to RNR. Driving from the cold snowy upper Midwest, we will need to get into the groove fast!!

I have a 7 day package with 5 day tickets. I added a day on in the beginning on a seperate ressie, and I have made fast pass selections for that day, in fact I have 6 days of fast passes scheduled, but only 5 day tickets. So I would say you can make selections for that day.

Thank you for giving us some assurance. I know this is not a deal breaker, or even a life changing event, but not anyone on a phone call could tell me that we could make FP for the separate day before on our "added on" reservation. The only thing they could offer us was to purchase a one day ticket at the new pricing tier, which was a lot of $$$$. Everyone has been helpful on these boards. Thank you. Now, on to finishing combining our abundant corn crop. 67 days and so excited.

Park tickets can be activated for use (usually) up to 3-days prior to check-in.

Thank you, Rusty Scupper. I assume that will or can be done at online check in? I believe that is when we also confirm our "linked" campsites, for ourselves and our DD and family. Thank you again.

At Guest Services when you arrive.

Plus you can still add the one day onto your ticket once you use it, you can have 10 days so they can add it at the resort.
