What indoor, air-conditioned activities would you suggest? I'm going 8/23-8/26 when it's going to be super hot, but I couldn't resist Southwest sale. It's a solo trip, and a "bonus" trip, so I just want to relax, avoid the heat, and enjoy being at WDW! I'm probably going to spend alot of time at the pool with a book. The only park attraction I'm thinking of is Universe of Energy because that's alot of time indoors, probably not much wait. Most of the activities I see suggested (like bike riding, mini-golf) would be too hot! Any other ideas for air-conditioned activities?

We went last july.....and though it was very hot at most parks we had no problem doing a ride/show and then getting cool in a shop or restaurant...
the only park that did not really have places to cool down was Animal Kingdom.....
have a great trip!

edited to add....don't forget to FAstpass and cut wait times!!

Just home on SUnday, I can tell you it was extremely hot! At MK, POTC, Philharmagic, Any of the kiddie rides in Fantasyland, HM, Splash (FP the line!), Space Mtn (FP again), probably the TIki Room if you can tolerate it, Buzz, COP is always cool (if it's running). At EPCOT, Soarin' is awesome, Rush to get in line at park opening, then get a fastpass (we did this and by the time we rode the first time our return window was 11:15). We rode at 11:15, FP again with a return around 2. I think ti's the only way to quickly ride this. It's at least completely airconditioned in the que, but the waits were around 60 minutes. Universe of Energy and Journey into Imagination are cool, along with Living Seas. LS is closing sometime soon for refurbishment, it may not be open for your trip. At MGM, Voyage of the Little Mermaid, GMR, & the inside part of TOT and RnRC are air conditioned. I don't think there is a single cool spot at AK ;) Good luck, take it easy and drink plenty of water! DH says never again in July!

I went solo around the same time two years ago. It wasn't the heat that got to me, it was the humidity!! That being said, I did find things to do in the parks in the air conditioning. PM me with your e-mail address if you'd like and I'll send you a copy of my lengthy, detailed, trip report.

Hang around The Land, Do Soarin, Ride the Land, Eat at Garden Grill, Ride Soarin again if you have a fastpass, then go over to Innoventions and do alot of great things there... all in air conditioning. Thats what we did not long ago and it was great!

I know that it is not much of an attraction but Ice Station Cool at Epcot is pretty darn cool and you can sometimes find snow on the ground in the beginning of the walkthru. Plus you get a chance to try the different Coke products from around the world for free.

Give the Beverly from England a try. It's the best!!!!

Have fun!!!

Just back. ICE STATION COOL is sort of not there any more..... Don't know if it's a refurbishment or what. We were disappointed. It's a great place to cool off and grab a quick drink!
