NOTE: To avoid violating this board's rules again for sale ads, I must omit reference to the actual resort names and points info. So please don't ask me to provide the specifics in a post.

Background: We started with one resale contract last March at resort "A". A couple of months later we bought a resale at resort "B". Last summer I added onto resort "B"'s use year twice by buying two small contracts at resort "X" directly from DVC. We have over 350 points total.

We enjoy visiting WDW in mid-December, before the Christmas crowd. If we were to add a second trip it would probably be either March (spring break) or mid or late May, as I can't stand the summer weather in Orlando. [We need to visit around the school calendar because DH teaches.] So the use year for resort "B" works well for us and even better than the use year for our resort "A" contract. We always get a 2BR and our stays often include at least a Saturday night even though it is more expense because we don't want to deal with the hassle of switching resorts. So our total number of points work well for us right now.

We've stayed at resorts "A" and "B", and we've visited the other WDW-DVC resorts. Our current preference is overwhelmingly resort "A" for our trips, with resort "X" and/or resort "B" second choice, depending on whether we plan a park visit or a more relaxing trip. I originally bought resort "B" because it had the lowest m/fs due amongst the WDW-DVC resorts that we would consider staying. But I was really surprised with the 2006 fees increase such that the difference between that and our other resorts' fees is no longer significant. Of course our "actual cost" of using the resort "B" points remain lower because of the lower original purchase price for those points. Nonetheless, that gap has reduced dramatically.

Now: I just read about the upcoming price increase for non-SSR ad-ons and it got me to start thinking whether we need to readjust our holdings and buy more points at resort "A". We cannot afford to just add on without selling, so I'm wondering if it would be wise to sell our resort "B" contract and buy more points at resort "A", even though we won't be able to get as many resort "A" points (as the resort "B" points we'll be selling) because resort "A" points command a higher price. Now I would not have considered this at all but for the fact that resort "B" fees are no longer such a big savings over our other resorts' dues. And getting resort "A" during the 7 month period for our preferred travel dates can be a pain (vis-a-vis waitlist). I'm pretty confident we can always get a unit at resort "B" during the 7 months or less period. If you were in our shoes would you just sit tight and work with your current contracts as is and avoid the pain and hassle of selling and buying? Or would you sell the resort "B" points to buy a slightly smaller amount of resort "A" points (obviously preferrably before the price increase)? I guess part of my conflict is also not knowing whether resort "B"'s fees increase this year was an anomoly or whether this is a new direction for that resort such that at some point in the near future the fees for all the WDW-DVC resorts would be roughy the same.
