I have a Kodak easy share camera and printer that I bought in 2002! It has been dropped several times and the other day, my son drenched it in spilled root beer!:sad2: It is not working right anymore!:sad1: We have been considering buying a new camera,:lmao: but it looks like we may now need to buy one before we leave next week!:scared1: I would love any suggestions!:grouphug: I do like printing my on pics and we have the Kodak software installed in our computer! I am wondering if I should buy another Kodak?? Or, if there is something better out there I should consider also? Please help and sooooon!:rotfl: We are going to have to decide quickly!:scared1:

Thanks! I really like the Kodak Easyshare V570! Anyone have this??Any reviews?:wizard:

I would be concerned about learning a totally new camera a week before a trip. I know someone who took a new type of camera on a trip and it was touch & go the first few days.
I would probably stick with at least something similar (or do some intense reading and usage for the next week).

Kodak can't hold up to root beer eh? That's it, I'm not buying a Kodak! ;)

I am really worried about buying a "spur of the moment" camera!:rotfl: But I don't really have much choice!:scared1:

I have been looking at the Cannon A630? Any thoughts on this one????

Definitely buy something similar to what you had, it will minimize the potential disappointment of missing some prime shots or coming home with less than stellar prints. Perhaps another in the Easy Share line would be your best bet at this point. I've looked at a couple of those myself, but I'm just such a Canon loyalist, I can't help myself.

I had a Kodak easy share before getting into Canons and I really didn't care for the whole bulky docking station setup. I have an A610 which is very similar to the A630 and it's a great camera, not too big, it takes very crisp pictures and I love the swivel screen. If it had more zoom it would be the camera I use all the time but I missed the 10x zoom of my old Kodak so I ended up buying the S3 and our A610 gets used primarily for snorkeling with an u/w housing. Other than being too short on zoom for my liking it's a great camera and I would highly recommend any of the A6x0 series cameras as long as you can live with 4x zoom. One nice thing about the A710 IS is that you get a little more zoom (6x) plus you have IS which is a great feature but I haven't read any of the reviews on this camera so I don't know how it compares overall to the A6x0 series.

Check buydig.com and beachcamera.com for prices. They're sister sites, very reputable and very often have the best prices on cameras. You can also select free shipping and in spite of what the website says you'll very likely have the camera in 1-2 days. I've purchased 3 cameras from them and each time they've shipped it the same afternoon I ordered it and I've had it in 2 days if shipping to my home (once it was even delivered on a Saturday!!) and in just 1 day if shipping to my office. Just be sure to read the return policy no matter where you buy it.

And whatever you get for a camera practice all you can with it before your trip, and read the manual again on the plane ride down (if you're flying). Have a great trip!!

I've been trying to decide between the A630 and the A550 myself, looking forward to if anyone has any thoughts on the matter.

My dh and I just got back from camera shopping. We bought the A550! He said he thought it would be easy enough to use, that we wouldn't be stressed out trying to get the hang of it! :lmao:

Please do share how you're liking it. I'm still deciding, can't find anyplace brick & mortar around here that has it, just online. And even if I do order online for the sake of a cheaper price, I wouldn't feel comfortable without checking it out in person first.
