There is talk of possible lay-off (temporary) at the hospital I work at. Here is the probelm. I have booked and paid for a trip to Florida/WDW for Oct. We booked and paid for this trip in May of this year when the possiblity of layoff was unknown. Anyways my holidays on the vacation planner were approved. I'll know more the first of August if l get laid off, 'cause they will be handing out the notices then. However they handed out an info sheet and it clearly states on it that you are to be available at all times therefore do not go on a vacation or your UI could be cut off. I really don't think this is fair since I booked the trip not evening knowing that I would be laid off temporarily this fall for 7-8 months. Can they do this?
