Here it is,my wife and I were planning on bringing our two boys(6,3) this Sept, but now we are not sure how well it will go with our lil guy. Meaning rides, and not being fully potty trained ( he is 2 now will be 3 at time of trip), just everything . Please we need all the advice we can get.

Thank you...

:confused3:confused3:confused:

There are lots of rides for a 3 yo to enjoy. He will also likely enjoy the parades. I would still bring a stroller if he will be a relatively young 3. As far as the potty training, you will have to wait until you get closer to really know. If he pretty much has it, just remember to remind him OFTEN and you will be fine. If he is only 50/50, I would have him wear pull-ups and still remind him often but be prepared for the occasional oops. If he is just getting started, I might wait until after the trip. Any way it works out, you CAN do it!

Just remember to take him to the potty before you get into any LONG wait lines. Nothing worse than waiting in line and then having to get out to go potty.

Hey, we took our boys for the first time in July(2009), my oldest had just turned 5 and my youngest was 2&1/2. They loved it, there was plenty for them to do, plenty to see and go on. There are restrooms everywhere and baby centers throughout the parks. The only thing I would mention is that the toilets automatically flush, which can be scary for some kids, so take a little post it, put it over the sensor and when he is all done, you can remove it and let the toilet flush.
Take a stroller, I would recommend a double stroller since your oldest is 6, sometimes they need a rest too, since they still have little legs. A sit and stand would work well for you, or any double stroller you might have.
I truly think he will love it at 3 and there will be plenty for him to enjoy at the parks, they also have parent/child swaps, so you don't have to wait in the line twice. If the 3 yr old is too short for a ride (like splash mountain for example) you could get in line with the 6 yr old, ask for a parent swap ticket and then when you get off, your wife can go on it with the 6 yr old. There are several things to keep the 3 yr old entertained while waiting.
Parades are tons of fun for the kids, fireworks, character meet and greets, I think you will be surprised how much there is for him.

Wow...I didn't realize how much I would write! Sorry I wrote you a book!!

Have fun, September is a great time to visit!

HECK MY 4 YEAR OLD WAS BETTER THEN MY 11 YEAR OLD LAST YEAR:confused3

SHE WAS ALWAYS PULLING,, " I GOT TO GO" AFTER WE HAD BEEN IN LINE FOR A BIT!!

I WOULDNT WORRY!!

OUr son turned 3 down there!! We had a blast. We did put our son in a Pull up while there. It was only used one time, but we were glad he was in it at the time! That is a magical age! Take them!

First, relax and stop stressing. You have no idea how he's going to be potty-trained wise in 9 months!!! Likely it'll be just fine. We took our DD when she was 19 months, when she was 2 and when she was 3 - never had one accident. Just make regular potty breaks. And don't worry!!! It'll be great!!! A relaxed mommy and daddy make everything go much smoother!

DS had just finished potty training 2 months before his last trip. We packed pull ups for just in case in the parks. My parents would take him to the bathroom every 1 1/2-2 hours as a preventative.

Grab a map and familiarize yourself with where all the bathrooms are in the parks and you should be okay. I think my parents may have even bribed him with snacks if he stayed dry (cashed in the DP snack credits at the end of the day for ice cream and such if he did good during the day).

Your youngest is at a fun age for the park. He'll be big enough to do new things. Take your time and be patient with him. Make time for bathroom breaks and you're going to be fine!

He will be fine!!!Tons of stuff for kids of all ages!! We took DD when she was 6 months and at 18 months! We are headed back next week, she is 2 1/2. Disney really is super kid friendly!

Your little one will be able to do all the rides that don't have height requirements (only 2 or 3 per park).

My youngest was just under 2 for our first trip and just under 3 this year when we went. He had a wonderful time and we had no issues. He was newly pottly trained this year. He wore regular underwear and we didn't have any accidents during a two week trip (including two 23 hour car rides.) The only near accident we had was our 10 year old running out of the line for Test Track to find a bathroom. She was wearing her own hydration backpack and had apparently drank 2L of water in under 2 hours. She made it, but it was close. :upsidedow

A few suggestions...

Bring a backpack with snacks and drinks (we use a hydration backpack filled with ice water). This was especially helpful when we were in lines or waiting for the older kids to ride something. You don't want to try to find a place to get food and wait in line every time your little one wants a snack.

Take an afternoon break. We usually arrive at rope drop (often am EMH) and stay in a park until 11:30 or so. We head back to the resort and ALL take a nap for several hours. I was a bit worried about the break our first trip, but once we got into the cool room and turned out the lights even my older kids were asleep within a few minutes. (This trip they were 10 and 5 and still napped most days.) Only spending 3-4 hours in a park at a time also helped keep the kids (and adults) from getting over stimulated. Amazingly we go for 2 weeks with 3 kids and have never had a meltdown.

Use fast pass and rider switch to minimize time spent waiting in line. This is essential for rides that your youngest might be too short to ride.

You will have a great time. :goodvibes

My wife and I thank you all VERY VERY much, I think was all the tips, and HELp we really needed. We are going to di it..

Thank you all again!!!! :thumbsup2 :worship:

Just wanted to say that my kids are now 6 and 3 and we have been 4 times since the youngest turned one.

Great name BTW. We are LaCroix as well.

Do not worry about things, or you will stress yourself out! :goodvibes First off, most rides at WDW have no height restrictions. Here is the ride height chart: http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/height.htm
As far as potty training, it is possible that he will be fully potty trained by the trip. I would suggest bringing a change of clothes into the parks with you (maybe even 2 pairs of pants and underwear), just in case he has an accident. Ask him about every 30-45 mins if he needs to go. Don't get in long lines without asking him first if he needs to go. If he is still not making it to the toilet everytime, I would bring pull-ups with you, but still work with him to help keep them dry. This way if he has an accident, he won't make a mess and feel bad about it. Definitely bring a stroller, even if you don't normally use one at home. I am bringing one for my 5 year old even, because he is too heavy to carry, and I can picture him being wiped out, throwing himself on the ground, and screaming for a long time. I'd rather have people wonder why my 5 year old is in a stroller than to deal with that! We only use it when he needs a rest or needs to sleep, and just push it from land to land in the parks. :thumbsup2

It's a great age!!! We took my DD on her 1st trip in December 2008 when she was 2 years 10 months. Everything was wonderful, magical and real to her. We had so much fun that we went back in May 2009 and again in December 2009! I wouldn't worry about the potty training thing. If he is still in pull ups it won't be that big a deal. If not, but you are worried about accidents, just keep a change of clothes in the stroller just in case. You just have to remember to at least take him in the restroom and make him try if he hasn't gone in a while. Have fun!!!!!
