I'm going to a Business Meeting at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel in LA in January. I'll be flying from Oakland to Burbank Airport ( I want to avoid LAX like the plague!) I can rent a car or take a taxi from the airport to my hotel. I will be staying there for the duration of the conference ( 3days). Is it cheaper to just take a taxi to and from the hotel or should I bother with a car rental? I'm just going to be at the hotel all 4 days so I can't see the advantage of renting a car.

Any advice or taxi costs are GREATLY appreciated! :thumbsup2 It's about a 20 minute drive.

Thanks!!:goodvibes

Sorry, I don't know taxi costs for the area, but personally, here in Los Angeles, I like the flexibility of having a rental. Although there is public transportation, the city is so widespread that it isn't easy going from one place to another usually.

If nothing else, with a rental you can go get something to eat, other than "Hotel" food. I travel a lot and always try and rent a car if I'm staying more than two days. I always get a rental that has a GPS in it!!

My vote would be to take a taxi. You'll be walking distance to the MTA Red Line if you want to venture over to Hollywood or Universal CityWalk, but driving is going to be a hassle unless you like to tour in your spare time. And don't downtown hotels tend to gouge you on parking? I know they do in S.F.

You'll be close to The Pantry - give it a try - open 24 hours since 1924: http://www.pantrycafe.com/faq.html. You might even run into the owner and former mayor of L.A. like I did.

Thanks for all the info! I will not be doing any sightseeing on this trip. That's why I think a taxi will be best for me. All business this time! :sad2: :lmao:
