I have been planning a trip for my family since January of this year. DH has been once, DSD(12) has been once and DS(7) and I have never been. We are scheduled to leave for Disney on December 22. I knew when I began planning this trip that it would be a busy time of year but as it gets closer I'm starting to feel I've made a huge mistake and that maybe we should just go to Universal instead. I mentioned this to DS(7) last night and he didn't like the idea of not seeing Mickey Mouse. Any advice or tips on how to make the most of this trip? We're not staying on site, we were gifted with use of a condo for free!

By all means go to WDW -- sure it will be pretty crowded, but with planning, you'll have a great time -- it's really fun to see all the decorations, and they have some extra stuff going on that helps spread people out. Try to go early in the day to start -- that's the main thing. Maybe don't count on seeing as much as you might another time. But it'll be fun!!! Universal is fun, too.

Welcome to the DIS!

It will be EXTREMELY crowded at WDW, but it will also be EXTREMELY crowded at USF.

To get the most out of your trip: arrive early, make good use of Fastpass, and if you are still there on New Year's Eve avoid the MK.

Don't worry, lots of other people go every Holiday season and have a terrific time! Enjoy your trip!

Having been there 2 of the past 3 Christmases (and NYE too)...go....and have fun! Yes, it is crowded...and chaotic. Have a plan that is subject to change and go with the flow. Will you wait for rides...yep! But go around to each of the resorts, look at the decorations...revel in the fact that you are wearing shorts while it is "snowing" outside. Be a kid! (Oh...and be sure you have reservations for where to eat!).
