Need advice with GF lagoon view

We are really looking forward to our first stay at the Grand Floridian. We booked a lagoon view, thinking this is the view that gets us the best shot at MK fireworks.

But I though I read that not all lagoon views have a view of the fireworks. Is that true?

Any advice on what request to make? Should I just ask for "fireworks view please" or is there some specific building I should ask for.

The two buildings that have the best (unobstructed) views of the castle and fireworks are Conch Key and Sago Cay. We stayed in Sago Cay for our honeymoon in room 5441. We had a pristine view of the 4th of July fireworks!!! I would request one of the the two buildings, magic kingdom view. I would also state your request again at check in, and it doesn't hurt to fax the request 3 days prior to arrival. Remember, nothing is guaranteed, but if you booked a lagoon view you will get it. Big Pine Key's lagoon view rooms look at the Polynesian and Boca Chica's lagoon view rooms look at the entire lagoon but not directly at the castle. If you want fireworks, go with Conch or Sago.

Hi There!
I would like to give my past experience staying at the GF.We
have stayed there on 4 occasions and have allways requested Lagoon view.The first time was Big Pine Key building which was stated as before did not view the castle.The next three times were in Boca Chica building.We did ask to view the Castle when reservations were made and at check-in.Our Dec.2002 trip was the best view ever!!!!We were in room #8233 and had a full Balcony and unobstructed view of the Castle and Fireworks and the EWP. I prefer this building for the convience of location and it was allways so quiet.But I allso have never stayed in the Sago Cay or Conch buildings.I will warn you though there are Tall Pine Trees right next to the building (Boca Chica) and one time it didn't give us a totally clear view,but nothing we couldn't live with.You will love the GF it has been our favorite the past few years but now we are ready for a change and are staying AKL Con. in Oct. and YC Con. in Dec. So enjoy your trip!!!!!!!
