We just returned from the 1/3/04 Western cruise with an almost 3 year old. Other than being extremely sad to be home, we had a great time. We did not do any excursions through Disney. They are way over priced. In Key West we stayed on the ship most of the day and swam in the not so crowded pools. About an hour before sunset we got off the ship and walked to Mallory Square to watch the performers, shop and witness the most spectacular sunset. It was the perfect thing to do with our daughter, she was mesmerized by the performers (jugglers, acrobats, tightrope walkers, fire eaters and a one man band). Prior to sailing I had booked a swim with the stingrays through Captain Marvin's for Grand Cayman. You can find them on the internet. After you leave the ship you walk about two blocks to their offices where they load you up on air conditioned buses and take you to the boats. The two best things about Captain Marvin's is that they are reasonably priced, we paid $84 for a two hour trip (for 2 adults, 1 child and the 2 yr old was free) and the 2 yr. old was able to come with us. She actually got in the water for a few minutes and watched the stingrays from a distance. Disney will not take a 2 yr old on this type of excursion. In Cozumel we got off the ship, hailed a taxi and went to Mr. Sancho's beach club. Admittance was free, for $10 I got 2 loungers, 2 floats and an umbrella for the day. They also have a trampoline in the water that the kids can use all day for $4 each. They have a decent bathroom with showers, a restaurant, bar and shops. One word of advice, do not get your hair braided at this beach. They charged me $35 for a half of a head braiding and did a poor job. The braids were way to big and they began coming undone within an hour. I actually took her braids out at the airport because they were looked so bad.
