Hi,

I am planning a trip for my boys to Disneyland. I currently work in Montreal and they will be coming from Brisbane Australia. I will be picking them up from Los Angeles and then heading to Disneyland!

We are going November 30th to about 4th of December. (then flying out to New York)

I am wondering how can I build this into an affordable plan?

I am looking at 3 adults (me, my partner and my mum) And 4 kids, my 2 and her 2.

So we are going to need quite a lot of space. I am wondering what our best options are for staying somewhere. Cooking would probably be preferable as with that many people nice large cooked meals with everyone would work out better than large expensive trips out. (and its nice to have everyone around the table together and helping in the kitchen)

So I am putting it out to the community.

What do you think is possible? what should I look at do? And what would you do?

I have only been to DL once, and that was with just 3 in my party. We stayed at the Howard Johnson in a regular hotel room. If I was traveling with a group as large as yours and with such a variety of ages, I would look into renting a house or condo. Have you ever looked at vrbo.com? You can search for whatever type of property you prefer. Not sure how far away from DL you might find a place, but it is worth a shot. Having a kitchen to cook meals in and a place to eat together will give you all time to talk after long days in the parks.

Hope you have a great time!

Check out the Disneyland forum here on the DIS. I'm going in July and the DL regulars over on the DL forum are super friendly and helpful. I'm going in July with a party of 3 adults and 4 kids for 8 nights. We rented a condo through VRBO.com. You can find lots of 2 room "motel" options for larger parties that are cheaper. However, I prefer to stay in nicer "hotel" type accommodations so the price difference was negligible and we decided to go for the option with more room and a full kitchen.
