Need advice, should we go for a day or not?

We have had a week booked in Palm Springs since March with my DH, DD4, DS2, and DH's parents. We are flying into Ontario on a Thursday afternoon and our condo stay doesn't start until Friday pm in Palm Springs. I thought I would be ok not doing DL, but now I am REALLY wanting to go on Friday and then head to Palm Springs that night. I know traffic is usually crazy going that direction on a Friday and we don't want to get to PS too late. What should we do???? We were last at DL a year ago and did WDW in Feb and heading back there in Jan 12 , so we aren't deprived! But, it just sounds really good to visit for a day. My DH is golfing the entire trip and I feel like PS for me and the kids won't be too much fun, but DL would be fantastic.

I know nothing about traffic . . . but to get the most out of your day at DL, can you just go straight to Anaheim on Thursday afternoon and spend the night there? Then maybe you can sneak in a few hours of DL or at least DTD on Thursday night, stay most of the day Friday and then head to Palm Springs? I'd say if you are going to be that close, how can you not make a stop at DL?

I like what mrswh said. That's a good idea, especialy a one night stay on Thursday is cheap. If you were to visit Disneyland on Friday, it would be good to stay near the park on Thursday night. East bound traffic is bad on Friday because of all the people going to Vegas. Normally, traffic starts to thin out around 7PM (if there were no major accidents).

Friday traffic going from OC east on the 91 is HORRIBLE! There's a FastTrak lane there (no cash accepted, you need the transponder) and they charge $10 on friday afternoons/evenings. I thought that was a ridiculous amount of money to pay just to go a few miles until i had to sit in that traffic one time, then it seemed like a bargain.

If it were me, i would still go to DLR but maybe stay until at least 7 or 8 pm to avoid the worst traffic. The traffic starts to get bad around 2 or 3 pm on fridays.

I'd go! Like others have said, stay Thursday night near DL and stay all day - I would suggest even later than the 7 pm - 8 pm others suggested because it's your only day there this trip! Have fun!
