The family that is going with us to WDW in April will be going a couple of days before us to do the cruise. I was wondering, so I can tell her, what is the best thing to do for transportation? They are arriving on Thursday and going straight to the ship from MCO. Then when they get back on Sunday, they are going straight to WDW for another week. They are planning to rent a car once they are at WDW. So I am guessing, (having never been there) that they get off plane, get shuttle to the dock. When they get back, get shuttle to WDW, and pick up a rental there? Thanks for any suggestions!!

National/Alamo has pick up and drop at the Dolphin hotel which is near Epcot. Maybe your friend could get her car there. Does the cruise shuttle take the riders to their individual hotels? She could be dropped at the Dolphin.

Options as I see it:

1. Disney buses MCO to port to WDW, then rental car.
2. Disney buses MCO to port. Rent car from Port Canveral (one that has a shuttle from port to car place--Avis or Budget). Drive to WDW and return car to MCO for flight home.
3. Rental car from port canaveral, shuttle to port; port to rental car place, rental car place to WDW then MCO.
4. Price a rental car for the whole time--we found it was cheaper to rent for the entire trip, even though the car was parked for part of it (and this includes parking at port-$10/day.)

Thank you. I did not know that they had busses from MCO to the port. Am I understanding that correctly? Disney has busses from the airport that will take you to the port? Is there a charge? Does anyone know? Thanks again

There are Disney transfer buses that do cost. My information may be old but it did cost $46 to and from port to MCO; $63 to port, WDW, and airport. These are per person. I assumed that you were talking aobut the buses when you used the term "shuttle" What shuttle were you refering to?? If you haven't already checked out the gollowing sites, you need to. They are PACKED with cruise info: Castawayclub.com and dcltribute.com.

Well like at LAX, they have shuttles that take you to various places. I was assuming that MCO had ones of their own. I just spoke to my friend, and she already got the busses back and forth. Now I just need to get her a car. Thank you everyone!!
