We will be on the dining plan and have never eaten in Epcot's China. Would those of you who have eaten here recommend that we try a counter-serivce or table-service restaurant? Also, anything that is particularly good?

Thanks!

The Lotus Blossom Cafe (counter service) in China has very good food....big portions. The orange chicken w/steamed rice is very good and very filling. Nine Dragons is a lovely restaurant, but I was not overly impressed with the food. It was not bad, but nothing very special, IMHO.

Nine Dragons generally gets horrible reviews here on the DIS. Personally, I'd rather do the CS at Lotus Blossom than to "risk" a TS at Nine Dragons.

Personally, our family avoids the Chinese CS--the food we've had from there has been cold, undercooked, you name it. We like the Japanese CS much better. We've never had the TS in China, partly because of horrid reviews, and partly because of our not-so-great experiences with the CS.

We have had great food at the counter service, always fresh and hot. We are trying Nine Dragons in Dec.

We love the China CS...before and after the menu change. The beef noodle bowl is delish and the egg rolls are very good. Pair that with a Peach OOlong tea and I am a happy girl!

Never tried the TS place...the reason is I cannot justify paying that kind of money for it..I would rather save the $ and go to PF Changs when I get home

Neither. China ranks near if not the bottom of our WS preferences. Pickup a Margaritta in Mexico and walk on by China.

One WS TS restaurant commonly over looked is Marrakesh or CS - Tangierine Café, which surpasses any China offerings .

CoolMickster1995 - Are you looking too eat in China because there is something on the menu that you want or just to try a new location?

There are very mixed reviews on this place. The common theme though is if you have good chinese in your area, then you may be disappoointed with the selections here.

But everyone should try for themselves. If this place is on your list or looks interesting, give it a try. Worst case scenario, you don't go back, right? If you do go, let us know what you think when you get back

Have fun planning!:cool1:

I'm in the minority on this - I LOVE Nine Dragons Honey Sesame Chicken. I'm glad so many folks don't like the place - that means I can get in almost anytime I feel the need for it!

We have eaten at Nine Dragons TS twice now and loved it each time. I actualy went for my birthday last year and the CM's were all lovely and the food was great. Hot and yummy.

I have also had the beef noodle bowl and egg rolls at the CS in China. That was also nice but a bit cold :)

Thanks for the replies. I think we will grab a CS meal here. One of our party requested that we try Chinese at Epcot. We have been a few times and have always eaten at Le Cellier. Good, but we are ready to branch out a little!
