I originally had a family trip planned for 11 of us in May. I have 4 basic 5 day tickets and 3 "4 Park Magic" tickets with start dates on May 15 that were purchased from UT. (Others were purchased directly from Disney.) I've rescheduled the trip to July, so my fastpass window will open the early part of May before the tickets would expire if unused, and one family member with a 4 Park Magic ticket can no longer go. Here are my questions:
1.) If I wait it out, will the tickets automatically change dates to Dec. 15 if the parks are still closed in May, or is that only happening with tickets purchased directly from Disney? (I know if I do this I miss out on the start of the fastpass window.) Does the date change only happen once the date has passed?
2.) My 4 Park Magic tickets aren't going to work ideally for our new trip plans in July, but I don't see a way online to modify them like I do on the basic 5 day tickets. I need to change both the date and the type of ticket. Will Disney modify those over the phone for me or do I have to go through UT?
3.) Should I just try to get a refund on all the tickets from UT and simply repurchase with the new dates needed to be able to make my fastpasses as early as possible? (I've read there is a restocking fee, so I realize I need to factor that cost into my plans.)
Thanks to anyone who takes the time to read and respond to my many questions!
