I have an ADR for Dec 4 for my anniversary and I was wondering if I should change it. I've heard such bad things and I'm worried it may upset that special day. We're doing a late lunch since we're going to MVMCP that night. Should I try to get a ADR at another place for lunch or stick with what I have? We're staying at WL so I thought that would be the easiest choice but I don't want to eat bad food and be sick for the party. We heard bad things about O'Hana and we love it there. In fact, we're going again in Dec. but I'd just like a little advice on what to do about WCC.

I've heard more complaints about the service than the food at WCC lately. I've eaten breakfast there twice, and the food was tasty and well-prepared both times.

I don't think I'd choose it for an anniversary celebration, though. But that's just my personal opinion. Banging trays, hootin and hollerin waiters, and kids' stick pony races doesn't sound real romantic to me.

How about Concourse Steakhouse at CR, Kona Cafe at Poly, or the Grand Floridian Cafe? All serve a very nice lunch, are easy to get to from WL, and have a much nicer atmosphere for an anniversary celebration.

We eat there twice a year for both lunch and dinner, and have never, ever had bad food. We always get the All-you-care-to-eat skillet, and it is always fresh & hot food that we eat until we want to explode, but we have never felt bad after eating there (just need to put our feet up in the lobby for a while!) DH and I have eaten there for lunch just the two of us, and it's not as rowdy as dinner. It's fun to just be there, and we always leave smiling! If our kids don't eat there at least once a trip, they are very disappointed! Go and enjoy it - give it a chance and form your own opinion. It's especially handy if you're staying at the lodge!
Oh, and Happy Anniversary!:cake:

We just had our first meal there in mid-August. We had a great waitress and the rest of the staff seemed to be just as good. While I personally didn't really think much of the food (I got the platter), it wasn't bad, just not my style. We did enjoy the restaurant quite a bit.

I like all of lynne's suggestions over WCC, especially for an anniversary lunch.

We LOVE the lodge - but WCC is kind of reminiscent of some of our steakhouses/rib places at home. It definitely does not mean "romantic" to me in any way.

Now if Artist Point was open for lunch.....(sigh)...

You'll have a wonderful time no matter what you choose! Happy anniversary!

Probably depends on your sense of humor. My DW would like it for an anniversary or bday meal because of her personality. In fact, we might be going to WCC for her bday in December.

We've eaten at WCC many times and never had anything but excellent food. It is a great place to dine and a one of a kind setting. Be sure to ask for some ketchup.:thumbsup2
