We are heading down next week and I know very little about going anywhere while dealing with disabilities. I recently have ligament reconstructive surgery on my ankle so I will be using an ECV. My MIL is also going with us and she is on oxygen as needed. Which I am sure she will need a lot while going around the parks. I know nothing about going to Disney since this is a 1st trip for all of us. Will we need to get a DAS card? I do not want to get one if it is not something we need.

Thanks!

Welcome to the disABILITIES Forum! :welcome:

I suggest you check out the first post of the WDW - Disability Access Service (DAS) thread pinned near the top of this forum. That first post explains the DAS.

To decide whether or not you should request a DAS, think about yours and your MIL's needs while waiting in a standard queue environment. If those needs are primarily stamina/mobility related and met by use of a mobility device (ECV, wheelchair, walker, rollator, etc.), then by Disney's standards you do not need a DAS and will not be issued one even if requested. If either of you has other needs, you should be prepared to discuss those with Guest Relations.

Enjoy your vacation!
