Need advice on first day at CBR-check in

We will be driving up from south Florida on Friday, May 3 , for a weekend trip . Since we are leaving vey early in the morning (6am), we may be able to make opening at Epcot, or at least get there soon after. We have a PS for Garden Grill at 12:40pm and were thinking of leaving after lunch to go check in at CBR. This will be about 2pm. I was thinking of calling them and requesting early check-in. Our plan is to arrive, check-in and if the rooms are not ready- go swimming in the main pool. I will bring a small bag with our swimsuits, sunscreen, sandals. Are there facilities for us to change at? Does the main pool have towels??? Would this plan work????? Any advice would be appreciated!!! We were going to go straight to CBR and check-in, then go to Epcot, but this may just be a waste of time.

Last year my husband and I checked in to CBR at about 11 am, but they said our room wouldn't be ready til about 2 pm, so we checked in and then went to eat and do some shopping, they told us all we had to do was call them at any phone in the resort, which we did at the CBR Jamaica bus stop and they told me which room it was right over the phone. We were given our room keys at 11 am, and were told our building was in Jamaica, but did not know exactly which room # it would be until we called at 2 pm. We always go to WDW on first day of value season and at 11 am there was a line, a decent li ne, but it moved quickly and we were out of there within 20-25 minutes.

My family & I just stayed at CBR the weekend of March 2nd. The main pool does have towels. The bathroom area at the main pool was closed for refurbishment while we were there...but that should probably be finished by the time of your stay. Either way, the sign on the pool bathroom door said to use the bathrooms in the main building, which is right by the pool area, so you should have a place to change.
