so our flight lands on WED LAX at 8:30am...we would like to do a rest day on Thurs. before expo starts on FRI...we are thinking going straight to Disneyland on that WED after we get in. the things we would like to do in Disneyland is both star wars rides, Haunted Mansion, Indiana Jones, Its a Small World, Matterhorn, Roger Rabbit Cartoon Spin and Splash Mountain. Im guessing park will be open until 11am....do you think its possible to get this done on that WED so we can have rest day or not? thanks

I would imagine that you'd be able to do Haunted Mansion, Indiana Jones, Small World, Matterhorn, Roger Rabbit and Splash Mountain in that time. Everything on your list should have FastPass/MaxPass, which will make it easier. Although, how the crowd will be with GE opening, no one can say. Whether you'd be able to fit in one or both new Star Wars rides (I assume you mean the two new rides, and not Star Tours) is also impossible to say at the moment. We do know that RSR passes are running out for the day by noon, if not earlier, so it's probable that by mid-morning there would be no more FPs for the new rides, which means waiting in standby lines... and if those lines are 3-6+ hours long as people speculate, then you're probably not getting everything on your list done. You should see what people are saying after the new land opens and wait for posts on crowd strategy to see what's realistic.

I would think it would be better to hit the parks both Wednesday and Thursday, and use a reasonable pace to touring each day. The weather in August ranges from super hot (during the day) to pretty nice, with evenings being the nicest.

see you at the Expo!

There really haven't been any new updates since the last time you asked this question in January. The information you want won't really be accurate until the "official" news about SWGE hits the internet. (And when that happens it will be all over this forum -- you won't be able to miss it!) Once you know what the crowds situation will be like for SWGE, what the FP and line situation will be like for those rides, and how those two factors will affect the two parks (and the major ride lines and FP availability there), then you'll be able to make better plans for your Expo schedule. Until then, you're basing your plans on pure speculation -- which may or may not be accurate. Wait until the official news hits and real news starts being posted here -- real experience from people who are actually seeing what's happening and posting on how to deal with it. That will help you make your best plans so that you don't end up exhausted before Expo even starts.
And the pp has a good suggestion about keeping the option of doing two days at a reasonable pace -- if the weather this August is anything like last year (super humid for us -- very unusual and yucky), a slower, easier pace is going to be a very good idea.
