I tried to make an early dinner reservation for Check Mickeys for our trip in March but it was booked up every night for a party of 5! The earliest we could dine was 8:15. This is really pushing bedtime with our 13 month old. Does anyone know if any tables are available to walk-in guests at Chef Mickey's or would I have any luck trying to make a PS once we arrive?

Thanks,
Dawna

Try going early, sometimes they are able to sit walk-ins. We usually go about 4:45-5PM. We've never had a problem getting a table but there were only 3 of us.

We did go late on our last trip, about 8:30 and DS who was 3 at the time, ate a little and fell fast asleep at the table. We got some adorable pics of him and the characters while he was sleeping. (And since he hardly ate anything, the CM was really nice and didn't charge us for him, even though we were expecting to be charged. Left him a really good tip)

Good Luck!

We had an early , 5:15 PS last time we went (there were 9 of us). The couple in front of us had no PS, just 2 of them, were given a beeper and told it would be an hour or so!!!!

Maybe if you go right when they open, you will be ok....

Good Luck!!!!

If you're there when they open you should be able to land a table. We tried this in Nov., party of four, and were seated in about ten minutes. Good luck!

what dates are you looking for?

any night March 14 through March 19, but we need a fairly early seating for five because of my 13 mo. old. Now we have an 8:15 pm reservation but I'm worried my little guy will be so tired that it will not be a fun experience for him or any of us. If we don't find anything earlier, we'll just see how that day goes...how long nap in middle of day is, etc.. We won't go if he will be unhappy. When baby's unhappy...no one is happy haha!

Thanks,
Dawna

If you are going to try for a walk-up, make sure you have a ps for something else nearby so that if they can't get you in at a reasonable time you have something to fall back on. There's nothing worse than wandering aimlessly at dinnertime with a young child. You could try for a ps in MK like at Crystal Palace or LTT or The Plaza restaurant. There's also Kona Cafe at the Polyesian just down the monorail line. There are, of course, many others but those are my suggestions.

If you are going to CM to please your ds then IMO you should scrap that late ps. If he is not used to eating so late (not to mention staying up so late) he will likely either be grouchy or fall asleep.

First I would make sure that I have PS at an alternate choice that has the characters that your son wants to see. How about the Garden Grill? The character interaction is wonderful here. They have Mickey, Pluto, Goofy, Chip & Dale.

Then, you can continue calling back to CM to see if something has opened up.

backup plan. Thanks for the suggestion to have a PS nearby so that we have a quick fix if we can't get in as a walk-up. My DDs who are 8 and 9 are the ones I'm trying to please as they have selected Chef Mickey's as their one and only choice for a "special" dinner. It figures that it was the only restaurant I can't get into at a decent hour!! haha I'm unsure how DS will react to the characters but I'm worried the late hour with the addition of giant characters might truly overwhelm him. We may have to scrap the 8:15pm meal, but thanks for the suggestions!

Did you try for Breakfast PS? It might be worth a try to get PS for the morning you plan on going to MK. Just an idea. Good Luck!

One night two years ago we went to the podium (without a priority seating) (5 of us) they wouldn't accommodate. I would go up by yourself (leave the kids with your spouse) while you check. Once the kids see the characters they get really sad if you can't get in. How about try to get another priority seating at another character dinner?
