Need advice on a waitlist for Oct. trip

Okay so I just booked two nights in Oct. at SSR in a studio. I was able to book Tuesday and Wed. Oct. 18th and 19th. I need the next three nights. Should I split the waitlist up. I think we can have two going right??? Should I waitlist thursday then do another waitlist for Friday and Sat??? I also have a back up room at SOG for the days and was thinking of booking a regular resort room as back up too. Would appreciate advice? THANKS!!!!

P.S. We just got back last Wed. from a quick trip but we decided to add another trip in Oct. because that is the ONE time of year I have never been and our youngest son who will be going with us, has off two days to go with the weekend.

I would split the wait lists up if I were you. I have never used the wait list myself but others report greater success with splitting it up. Obviously if only The second one matches then you could just cancel before the 30 days to prevent the points going into holding and keep your SOG reservation. As far as Oct goes I think you will love it. The MK has great Halloween/fall decorations and between MNSSHP and F&W there will be lots of new stuff for you to try. This will be our third Oct trip (going the exact same week you are going) and we had awesome experiences the past 2 years-beautiful weather and reasonable crowds.

I'm just hoping the party tickets aren't outrageously priced this year (after these before hours/after hours test events this spring I think it could be a lot higher than last year )
Don't forget to check as last year DVC members got a discount on party tickets ($4 off but only avail the sun and tues parties of that week last year)

My daughter and her boyfriend went last year and they were 74 with no discount and I think they went on Sunday night. We were hoping to do the Thursday. When will they release the prices?

No idea on prices-tickets went on sale in April last year I think but from other posts I've seen I guess last year was early and it is usually more like May-last year Halloween sold out in August but other October dates sold out much closer to the parties. Based on last year (and I think the previous year) that Thursday party probably won't have a DVC/AP discount-they don't offer the discounted price too close to Halloween. (But it never hurts to look).
