Need advice: My 2 year old refuses to sit in stroller

From the time my son could walk until he was 4 he refused the stroller. He wanted to be out and running. We just went at his pace until he got tired and would nap in the stroller. At 4 he refused to walk. LOL.

It's so much walking for those little legs at any Disney park that I think he'll happily stay in his stroller after a certain point for at least a little while. Would he be more apt to wear the leash backpack if he can pick it out ("do you want the dog or monkey")? Worst case, he walks and one of you walks with him and the other pushes the stroller. Luckily, with little legs, he can't go too far. :)

We went through the same thing when my daughter was 2. At home she didn't like being in the stroller. But we brought our G-Luxe (umbrella stroller) and the first day she just wanted to be carried. I quickly called the stroller rental company who we got our full size crib from and asked for a larger BOB jogger stroller. When it came we told her it was a big kid jogger for disneyworld. Never used be word stroller around her. She loved the idea of a big kid anything and happily jumped in. Best 70 bucks I spent all week!

Thread is 4 1/2 years old! The issue has likely been resolved.

...Well, have to say I feel beyond silly!!! I thought this was on the current threads... wow! So sorry to dig up this oldie, still have no idea how I did that! ...

But, maybe someone will stumble on it and find some good ideas, etc. :)

Have you considered adding a standing board to your stroller? That way he can ride standing when he wants to and sit when he is tired. Kids tend to love the boards. I have one on my stroller for my older DS now that we have DD and it works great.

Mine has always hated the stroller but she willingly rides at Disney because there is so much to look at and lots of opportunity to get out. Also, there isn't an option- I let her walk sometimes but if there is a reason I need her in the stroller it's either in the stroller or we leave, wherever we are. Usually the choice of you can get in the stroller or we can go home was enough to get her in it at that age.
