Need advice - job related

I am in charge of processing registration renewal forms at work. The forms are sent to an individual person, who then in turn is supposed to send it to me for processing and payment. The forms are sent directly to the individuals. If the first renewal form isn't paid, the individual receives a second one, and then a final notice.

Some people do not send me their forms on a timely basis. If they forget the first time, they receive at least 2 more, for a total of three per year. They know they are supposed to send me the forms.

My boss feels that if the forms are not paid on a timely basis, it's MY fault. It's my fault if the forms aren't sent to me. This does not happen on a regular basis, but she degrades me every time it happens. I think that grown adults can be relied upon to send me a form that appears in their mailboxes, if not the first time, then at least the second time. I will not take responsibilility for their negligence, no matter how my boss spins it.

Suffice it to say I'm looking for a new job. But please tell me how to handle this with my boss in the meantime. And please give me advice as to how to find a new job quickly!!!
 
Stuff like that happens here, too. My boss gets his Wall Street Journal delivered to his house. When he gets the renewal, he throws it away, and then wonders why his paper is cancelled. My other boss does it with one of his credit card bills. I can't pay them if I don't have them!

Here is what I would do. Explain the problem to your boss, and then offer a solution. Ask if you can have your name or M/S added to the registration mailing address. That way you can monitor which ones come in, which ones are paid, and which registrations are returned - make a copy in case they lose their registrations, and you will be a hero some day when they do.

I'm also looking for a new job for similar reasons. The Principals get 4-6 weeks behind on doing their timesheets, won't turn in credit card receipts and expense reports, don't tell me the project billing terms and then I'm the one in trouble when invoices aren't sent out and we aren't receiving any money. They also told me two months ago that I was being passive agressive and trying to put the blame on them when it's my responsibility. :confused3 That is just one of the reasons I can't stand this place.
