Other than a guaranteed ocean view room, are there any other benefits to an Inn room over a studio at VB? Are they about the same size with similiar features? It appears that an inn room might have a little too much of a "hotel" feel. Thanks!

We've not stayed in an Inn Room yet (but in 45 days we will have); studios all have the same configuration - bed and then a couch w/foldout bed. This allows for a little extra room when not using the second bed.

Inn room configurations will vary to some extent depending on what your particular sleeping requirements are.

I found the studio on the first floor of the villas to be very dark; mainly because of the heavy vegitation so if you do go with a studio, request an upper floor.

It all depends on what you want. Do you want to be in the main inn or in a villa?

Someone may correct me on this but if you book an inn ocean view room, you are guaranteed an ocean view. I don't think you can be guaranteed that in a studio-you can certainly request it though.

We just prefer the inn-we like to be able just to quick run down to the shop or to a restaurant or the Green Cabin room-even though the villas aren't that far away either. An inn room has always worked well for us because we have little kids-and we HAD to have an ocean view.

I'm sure you'll be happy with either.

We found them not to have too much of a hotel feel-very relaxing, etc. I'm sure if you have a room stuck between 2 noisy rooms or something then you will get that "hotel" feeling.

Definately go for a higher floor if you do a studio.

FYI-my MIL booked a studio last October and she ended up in the main room anyway-so nothing's guaranteed.

Thanks for the info! This will be our first stay next month as new DVC members. We're looking forward to it! Also getting ready to book our first stay at our home resort, BCV for January.

Your probably already familiar with the difference in the room configuration with the Inn Room having two queen beds and the studio having a queen bed and a pull out couch. During the day, the folded couch does add more room.

Two additional points about inn rooms vs. studios:

Because the studios are adjacent to 1 BR villas with a connecting door, they can be somewhat noisy due to neighbors in the unit next door. We have had this experience twice at VB. Our last stay was in an Ocean View Inn Room and was much quieter. YMMV.

There are a small number of inn rooms that have a king size bed and a sleeper sofa rather than two queen size beds. These are a "squarer" shape than the other inn room so this furniture combination appears to fit better. If you are traveling without children, one of these rooms may be ideal. We had one for our last visit (in January this year) and loved it. Next time we go to VB, we will request this, realizing of course that it cannot be guaranteed.
