Need advice for upcoming Christmas trip

yeah, that whole hindsight thing lol. I should have booked it and then cancelled the one I didn't want once we decided. I bet I won't make that mistake again!

I do this too, but it can get crazy expensive as they have your deposits for all those reservations you are holding at once. But I do it because I don't want to miss out and wish I had booked something and then it is gone. However, as others have said, it often pops back up and you can grab it. Either way, have a great time!!

I appreciate all the feedback! So this morning I asked my girls and let them look at pictures of WL. DD7 said she wanted Beach Club and I asked how she knew about Beach Club and she said she was looking on her iPad lol. We did decide on WL but things totally fell apart! I show up at work, Go to my reservations, pull up the CL room and it was asking for an additional deposit. I already paid $2K so I called Disney. I get an agent within a few minutes. After I tell her what I want to do she says "No Availability" so I tell her I'm looking at it in my cart. She goes to My MDX and tells me its not in my cart. I decide to just book it and then cancel AOA so I click the "Next" button and Poof! It's gone!!!!! I'm beyond pissed at this moment! But I understand rooms are filling up quick. So she tells be there is NO availability and ANY Deluxe resort with Club Level service besides The Contemporary at over $2K a night! No Thank You!!! I do my own search and see Beach Club as a new Passholder rate and she can't see it. I finally ask her to escalate to someone that can help me. The woman I talked to told me the same thing. No more rooms at WL and someone must have booked the last CL room while I was on the phone. I didn't know that if it's in your cart, it's not held and someone else can book it. So at this point I'm kicking myself for not booking it last night. I ask about Beach Club and she tells me no availability! I tell her No, I'm looking at it under the Passholder deals. Finally she finds it and I ask one more time to re-check WL CL. Still nothing. So I said what the heck. Book BC. I ended up spending $400 more that I would have at WL but it is what it is and we still get a CL room! The one plus is Christmas Day is our Epcot day so we have that I really hope we like it!

Oh, wow. Well, I think it's a blessing in disguise. We stayed CCV at WL last year the week before Christmas (and we've stayed WL CL before). As I said in a previous post, WL is GORGEOUS. That being said, we've gone to WDW over Christmas week once and we stayed at BWI. Staying in an EP resort absolutely saved our trip. The fact that you will be able to walk to two parks and not have to use ANY WDW transportation to get there is a MASSIVE bonus. We were in DHS one night when it closed and the lines for the boats and buses was so long. We simply strolled back to the resort - it was awesome. I think you will LOVE BC! Make sure to walk over to the Boardwalk one evening for the entertainment. They have some lovely decorations over there as well.

We plan on it! All of our park days are rope drop, ride till lunch, eat at a sit down then leave. We will have plenty of resort time daily and miss the most crowded part of the day at the parks. We should have plenty of time for Boardwalk. My girls already told me we just HAVE to ride the Surrey bikes.
