Need Advice for rides: 1 adult, 2 kids

Hi all,

We have never been in this situation before and I would love some expert info. We are traveling to the world in 59 days...YIPPPEE. I will be 28 weeks preggo so I will stay with our baby, 22 months old when dh and my dd (9) and ds (8) go on the rides. When they were younger, we did child swap. This time both kids can ride everything but dh will be the only adult. I know neither of them will be crazy about riding with a stranger (on those rides that only 2 can ride together). What can we do about that? Can you do a child swap in that case? On how many rides will this be a problem for us? (It has been 3 years since we have been there--I know we are okay with ToT and Space Mountain). Thanks for your help!!

Let the kids ride together and DH can ride with a stranger. I can't think of any rides where he would not be 'right there with them'. Also, there are not a lot of rides that you will have to sit out.

You can use rider swap (babyswap) because of the baby but it will take alot longer for dh to ride with each kid one at a time. Your better off using fp and having all three of them ride at the same time.

At 8 & 9 they can ride together with dh in the vehicle right behind them and on quite a few rides they may be able to sit together as three. I travel as the solo adult with my dd's and have since they were toddlers. When they were about your kids ages we could still ride three to a car in splash mtn and btmr as well as some of the fantasyland rides. It depends on the size of your dh and kids and how comfy they will be.

R&RC and EE will only sit two to a car and Space Mtn is three in a row single file. Of hand I think everything else "could" sit three.

Mostly everything can fit 3. We are a family of 5 and rode pretty much everything split into 3 & 2.

The only ones I can really think of that only fit 2 are RnR & Everest, but for those your girls could sit together and DH sit in the row right behind. Buzz Lightyear only has two laser guns, but three can still ride in one car.

Oh thanks everyone! I was wondering if they would let my dd and ds ride together without an adult. They are both pretty skinny kiddos 62 pounds and 56 pounds...so them squeezing in with dh when possible should work too. I'm kind of bummed that I won't be able to ride all the rides, but at least we don't have to decide who stays with my little ds.

On rides that have only two seats like Barnstormer, RNR, Spaceship Earth and Expedition Everest, the kids sat together and I sat in back of them. For mostly all the other rides we were able to all sit together or at least in the same car .

Yep, minimum age to ride without an adult is 7 at WDW and your dh will be with them anyway. Your DH will have to sit with a stranger on EE and RnRc as they have single rider lines. I have met lots of interesting folks from the single rider line, some we ran into several times during the trip

You and the baby will be fine riding most of the rides esp dark rides and the fantasyland rides. Just about anything without a height restriction - except maybe the safari for you and some of the louder dark rides if your baby is easily frightened.

All of the shows, parades and fireworks will be enjoyed as a family as well, its really a pretty small percentage of the attractions that you won't be able to do as a family.
