need advice for October Trip to DL

we are from phoenix and have gone to DL every year since 1984 (our honeymoon) our kids are not 16 and 20 and still love going every year.....we usually end up going on a saturday but now this trip have the option of going on a Friday Sat or Sun. I know the hours are longer on a Saturday but that seem to be the busiest do you think Sunday would be the best? Also has anyone paid extra to eat desert at the french restaurant to get a better seat for fantasmic? is it worth the extra $....in all the years going we have never seen fantasmic we ususally get frustrated with the huge crowd and leave. thanks

I am not sure of an answer for this as I have never been to Disneyland before. Im my experiences Fridays are the better of the three, saturday is always a mess and sunday is really simliar, even though its sunday. Personally, one day just seems like nowhere near enough, I always do at least 4.
