My DH and I have been planning a trip for October with our children who will be 2 & 5. We were planning to be cheap and stay off-site, and I even booked the ADR’s this week. We had invited my parents to meet us there for all or a portion of the trip, and they decided that they wanted to splurge and stay at the AKL. My dad called tonight, and offered to pay the difference for us to join them at the AKL. We feel guilty taking this from my parents, but I just don’t think that we can pass up a Savannah view room at AKL. My major questions are concerning how to book the room. My father is retired military and is planning to use a military discount if possible. I believe that the current offer ends in September. Is it likely that this will be extended? Also, if my parents booked, could they use the military discount on two rooms? Also, if we were to choose to book a package, would my dad need to be there for check in to show a military ID? We live in Georgia and are planning to leave early to drive down to get to rope drop at MK on our first day. My parents will be flying in from Virginia that afternoon. I would appreciate everyone’s advice and opinions on how to book and plan this trip. I had our trip all planned out, and this has really thrown me for a loop. Thanks.

Your dad can get three rooms with the discount. Don't think it will be extended so end of September is it. As far as showing the military ID before you check in, I was informed last year that I couldn't but this year people have been telling me different so you probably would be able to check in but don't think your room would be ready for rope drop.
