need advice for cricut experts :-)

OK I am sorry for the confusion. I was so confused because I do not have a shift layer option on my cricut cartridge. I have had my cricut for years, so I couldn't figure out what you meant. So I found the Mickey and Friends book on-line and was shocked!!! My book is different (the one in front is mine, the other one is from on-line), I do not have that layer in my booklet?? Has anyone else discovered a difference in cricut books before?? It is like that with every Mickey.

So I apologize if I confused anyone, but wow! I learned something new today.

ETA: I just put my cartridge in the cricut to see if the cut, not in my booklet, would show up on the screen. Sometimes it did give me the Mickey whites, sometimes it didn't??? This cartridge is probably 6+ years old and I just now know this -LOL!!! Once again, sorry for the confusion. Reddy was probably thinking what an idiot!!

I was thinking maybe you had a hard time seeing it - but oh my, it isn't in the book, that is crazy. hey, at least you learned something wonderful today. That should make it easier for you to cut them:hug:

Yes, there are a couple of areas in the book that don't show there are cuts... I found out by trial and area and now I have notes on my book that "face" or "hands" to remind me that cut is available!!!

Weird, so does your book look like mine then? I wonder if it is just the older books and they updated them later? I have never experienced this before ;)

My book looks like your book.. I'd have to pull it again to see what other one I found was missing...

Cue Twilight Zone music! Did it cut? That's just strange! I use Design Studio and/or the Craftroom to design, so I don't look at the books all that often. DD uses them though. I'll have to drag them out and check.

I think there should be something there unless it says "Not Available" - looking at Chip his layer 1 (no shift) is not there but the white(shift layer 1) is

OMGoodness, I learned too today LOL. I get it now.
I had to get my book out too. I have the newer one, and thank goodness cause I'd really be confused.
Still think those white eye cutouts are super duper small.
Thanks again for the clarifications.

I hope so!

I have forced myself to make more diecuts in advance. Trying to spend some time everyday. I know I will eventually use them. It will be so awesome when I feel like doing a Disney page, I won't have to spend hours cutting. I'll just head to my stash. I also cut 2 of what I'm doing as an additional timesaver!

BTW- A great tip I learned recently is to use spray adhesive for small pieces. I now do it for all my small cuts and my titles. Totally cuts down the completion time. :thumbsup2

I collect my small pieces on strips of xyron X adhesive. Sometimes I even cheat and use a pen for the details that are too fine to cut.

Hi again ladies! I had computer issues so couldn't get back onto to view this thread until now. Thanks so much for the feedback. I am a little intimidated now! I will print this out and work on one of the heads this weekend.

Thanks again!
