Need Advice for BWV Studio in 2018

Hello all! I would love some advice on a scenario for 2018. We own at AKV, and have stayed there most of the time. For our April or May 2018 trip next year, I'm interested in trying to stay elsewhere as a nice surprise for my husband. We're choosing between two sets of dates- either Saturday 4/28/18 - Sunday 5/6/18 or Saturday 5/5/18 - Sunday 5/13/18. This will be our first trip with more than 7 nights, so I know that I'll be able to book at my 11 month window at my home resort for the first 7 nights and then call the next day to try to add the last night. My question is about which week would be better chances for a BWV studio at the 7 month window. I'll have to call into Member Services since I'll also have to purchase some one-time use points, so I know we'll be limited on availability both due to the popularity of BWV and then having to wait the extra hour. I am assuming that either week will be a huge long-shot and we will be happy to stay at our home resort. Does anyone have recommendations on which week might have more availability? Thank you!

Mothers day weekend tends to be one of the first days to book up in May but I think you'd likely have your choice for either time at BWV. I don't really see it as a long shot if you are ok with a pool/garden view. Between the two though I'd expect the earlier dates to be a bit easier.

I think you have a good chance, that is a slower time. Plan on pool/garden view.

As Debbie said, just make sure to allocate enough points for pool/garden. If you get standard or BW View, you can grab it. Just don't plan or get your heart set on either and your chances of being happy are pretty good.

For 2013 through 2017, the BWV pool/garden view studios were open at 7 months out for the time you want (and that includes being open beyond 9 a.m. eastern if one called MS rather than reserving online); standard and boardwalk views had days missing for any given 7 day period, except one or the other usually had the last 3 to 4 days of April open -- the last 6 to 7 days of April is one of DVC's lowest demand times of the year.
